Batch rename freezes

Every time I try to batch rename files in Adobe Bridge 15.1.1.729 Bridge freezes when it reaches ca. 10%

Sometimes I want to change the following order of my pictures, so I give a picture which has a name and number already a number of the pictures which it should follow with suffix 'b'.

When I want to rename the series of pictures, Bridge freezes and when I stop the action and stop and start Bridge again. The renumbered pictures are at the end of the row, with "temp1" at the end of the name. Then I try the action again, and then it works.

I had online help from Adobe 2 times. They installed Adobe Bridge again and that helps, but only for 1 or 2 times using the batch rename function, then the problem starts again.

My numbering looks like this:

5809_ESP_Provincia-de-Salamanca_La-Alberca

So when I change the number, I put "b" after the number of the picture that should be first to this one, as i.e. 5782b_ESP_Provincia-de-Salamanca_La-Alberca, and then I rename the pictures until I have 5782_ till 5810_ as a normal order.

After 2 times help of someone of the Adobe helpdesk (in India?) I would expect that they would contact Adobe and tackle this bug, but nothing happened. I am waiting several months by now.....

This is not a correct answer, and I asked where your images are stored? Are you using cloud storage?

I am on a Mac Studio M4 with the latest software. I do not know if this is an issue with Mac and not on Windows?

I use Batch Rename extensively and don't see this issue, so it may be something with your setup rather than a bug.

Where are your photos stored? Are you using any cloud storage solution?
