Betreff: Kritischer Fehler in Photoshop 27.x: „Bild → Korrekturen“ nach Öffnen über Bridge deaktiviert

I am a professional Photoshop user, and this is a serious production issue.

Problem:
When I open or send an image from Adobe Bridge to Photoshop, the entire Image → Adjustments menu is disabled. This means that essential commands such as Levels (⌘L) are no longer available.

The problem is reproducible:

  1. Select an image in Adobe Bridge.

  2. Open/send the image to Photoshop.

  3. In Photoshop, Image → Adjustments is greyed out and unavailable.

  4. Close the document.

  5. Open the exact same file directly from Photoshop using File → Open.

  6. Image → Adjustments is immediately available again, including Levels (⌘L).

This clearly suggests a problem in the Bridge → Photoshop workflow, rather than a problem with the document itself or with the Levels adjustment.

For professional users, this is not a minor interface issue. Levels and the other commands under Image → Adjustments are fundamental Photoshop tools that have been part of professional workflows for decades. Having these commands silently disabled depending on how a file is opened makes Photoshop unreliable in a production environment.

What is particularly frustrating is that this appears to be a known issue that has already been reported in the Adobe Community. Nevertheless, the current Photoshop update is being distributed through Adobe's official channels without this issue being clearly communicated to users.

Please:

  • reproduce the issue using the Bridge → Photoshop workflow,

  • investigate the communication/state passed from Bridge to Photoshop,

  • document this as a known issue,

  • and provide a fix as soon as possible.

A workaround is to open the file directly from Photoshop instead of using the normal Bridge workflow, but this is obviously not an acceptable solution for professional users who rely on Bridge as part of their daily production workflow.

Please treat this as a production-critical bug, not merely as a cosmetic UI issue.

Subject: Serious complaint regarding a production-critical Photoshop/Bridge bug

I am writing as a professional Photoshop user to express my serious dissatisfaction with the current state of Photoshop.

The latest update introduces—or at the very least continues to ship with—a serious bug affecting the basic professional workflow between Adobe Bridge and Photoshop.

When an image is opened from Adobe Bridge in Photoshop, the entire Image → Adjustments menu can become disabled. This includes Levels (⌘L), one of the most fundamental and frequently used Photoshop tools.

The same file, opened directly from Photoshop via File → Open, immediately works correctly and the Adjustments menu becomes available again.

This makes the problem straightforward to reproduce:

Bridge → Photoshop → Image → Adjustments disabled
Photoshop → File → Open → Image → Adjustments available

This is not an obscure edge case. It affects a core workflow used by professional photographers, retouchers and other Photoshop users who manage and open their files through Bridge.

What I find particularly unacceptable is that this issue has already been reported to Adobe, yet the affected software continues to be distributed through Adobe's official update channels without the problem being clearly communicated to users.

For professional users, Photoshop is not an inexpensive hobby application. It is production software that people rely on for their livelihood. Basic functions such as Levels must work reliably, regardless of whether a document was opened directly in Photoshop or through another Adobe application.

A workaround such as “don't use Bridge and open the file directly in Photoshop” is not an adequate solution. It simply shifts the burden of an unresolved Adobe software defect onto the customer and disrupts an established professional workflow.

    I therefore expect Adobe to:

    1. Acknowledge this issue officially.

    2. Identify and document the exact affected Bridge → Photoshop workflow.

    3. Provide a clear status and workaround for affected professional users.

    4. Fix the problem in a properly tested Photoshop/Bridge update.

    5. Improve regression testing for fundamental Photoshop functions before releasing updates.

It is particularly frustrating that users are expected to discover such problems themselves after installing an update that was officially distributed by Adobe.

I have been using Photoshop professionally for many years. I expect occasional bugs in complex software, but I do not expect fundamental editing functions to become unavailable because a document was opened through another Adobe application.

Please do not treat this as a minor UI issue. It is a production reliability problem.

Adobe needs to take responsibility for ensuring that Photoshop and Bridge work reliably together—especially for the professional users who depend on this workflow every day.
