Bridge 16 full screen preview flickering. This has been on and off for years now.

M1 Macbook Pro. Having screen flickering for 50% of raw images. Was happening on 14, 15 and now 16 version of bridge. This is making me furious! Have 3tb of photography to work through. This is one of the most basic key functions of being able to view images.

Aside from not correctly showing 100% previews which has also been for years. The flickering (as if repeated reloading and switching color profiles) when space bar viewing images is just shocking. There are posts on this going back to 2020.

I've done restarting. Fresh installs. Clearing caches. Turning off generating, turning off keeping color profiles, tried generating previews for entire folders. There is not any combination that works to stop this happening.

This was happening on Sonoma and is still there in Tahoe.

I have had the same issue, bridge has been doing this on both my new and old macbook pro, and with both ,y previous camera and my newest. Have been trying all kind of setups and fresh installs cleaning caches and all. Very annoying, reviewing ones photos is such a basic function, and the flickering is making it extremely annoying and hard to focus on image content. Adobe, fix this !

It is 2026 and I use version 19 and it is still happening.  I found something that fixed it today.

I am not prone to overly exaggerating, but holy moly this one worked for me too!!

Bridge latest version 16.0.6.9, Mac Studio 2023 M2 Max 64GB memory Tahoe 26.5.2, ViewSonic monitor. I am commonly culling raw files converted from camera raws to DNGs. It seemed like there might be some element of waiting for Bridge to generate 100% previews for the entire folder or something, because I would see the flickering change for a given image--at first it would flicker, then flipping to the next image that one would not, flipping back to the previous it would still, but sometimes an image would be flickering and then stop… no actual idea why but it changed over the period of a few minutes so something dynamic going on. But this solution posted above instantly resolved it for all images in that folder!

So what worked sequentially (in case Adobe sees this and tries to solve the root problem that still seems to exist from posts going back to 2020):

  1. Viewing a folder of raw files, spacebar to enter full screen, flipping through images with the arrow keys
  2. Spacebar to exit full screen, clicked on the + icon at bottom to change the thumbnail size
  3. Spacebar again and the flickering was immediately gone for all images

Of note, I could then also spacebar back out and click the - icon to change the thumbnail size back to what I want it to be and the flickering remains fixed.

Wow, what a find, super huge thanks to @jan_lemmy for finding it, what a coincidence!

Still would like to see the root issue fixed by Adobe of course.

Example. But happens for 50% of images in CR2 formate and other raw formats. Using the most up to date version of Camera Raw.
