Bridge (version 16) was working normlly as of this morning. Later, when lauched there were no windows and  most of the items on the menus were greyed out. I tried emptyig the cache, reinstalling the program, etc to no avail. Eveb the "About Bridge" window doesn't appear. Other apps are fine., including Photoshop. This is on a MacBook Pro M5 with Tahoe installed.

Hi @Ed Merrin,

Thank you for sharing the details.

Could you please confirm if you’re using a multiple-monitor setup?

Could you please try the following steps:

  1. Restart your system
  2. Adjust your display resolution settings
  3. Launch Bridge

Let us know if the issue persists after trying these steps.

Thanks,

Bridge Team

Hi,

Thanks for your response.

I did as you suggested, with the same results. The menu bar appears but no windows. If I select anything on the menus the menu bar dims out and all of the menus turn grey. I often have to force quit to leave Bridge. If I launch Photoshop and select Browse in Bridge the same thing happens - menu bar but no windows, and any attempt to select anything dims out the bar. That includes just clicking on “About Bridge.”

I tried holding down shift/option/command and selecting all three items on the resulting menu to no avail. I can’t do anything about presets or the cache because the menu doesn’t operate. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling with a fresh copy of Bridge without success. All of this happened suddenly yesterday; it had been working fine until then.

I noticed in my application folder that the folders for several older versions of Bridge are still there. Is there a possibility of a conflict? If I delete them (or maybe move to a different out of the way folder) would like be useful?

Thanks for your help. I’ve been using Bridge for over 20 years so this is a bit perplexing. I have all these files that I can’t get to! I’ve even considered trying Lightroom as a replacement, since I have that in my subscription.

An additional piece of information - Most of my image files are on an external drive. That may or may not be of any help to know.

Hi @Ed Merrin,

Thank you for your feedback.

Could you please try launching Bridge from Finder > Applications > Adobe Bridge 2026 > Adobe Bridge 2026 and let us know if this resolves the issue?

Thanks,
Bridge Team
