Seeking Feedback from New Apple Silicon M6 Mac mini Users Running Adobe Bridge
Issue
Adobe Bridge does not generate video thumbnails for any video files.
Environment
- Mac mini M6 (Apple Silicon)
- 24 GB RAM
- macOS 27.0.1 Golden Gate
- Adobe Bridge 16.0.8
- Photoshop and Media Encoder installed
What Works
- Photo thumbnails display normally in Bridge.
- Video thumbnails display correctly in macOS Finder.
- Videos play normally.
- The same video files generate thumbnails correctly in Bridge on:
- Intel iMac
- Windows PC
Tested
- Local SSD storage
- Synology NAS storage
- MOV and MP4 files
- Purged Bridge cache
- Moved cache location
- Increased thumbnail file size limits
- Reset Bridge preferences
- Complete Bridge reinstall
- Tested Bridge 15.x and 16.x
- Tested under a new macOS Administrator account
The behavior remains exactly the same: photo thumbnails render, video thumbnails do not.
Adobe Support has escalated my case to engineering, but so far we have not identified the cause.
Looking for Similar Users
If you are using:
- A Mac mini M6
- Apple Silicon
- macOS 27 Golden Gate
Could you let me know:
- Does Bridge generate video thumbnails for you?
- What version of Bridge are you running?
- Are your files local or on a NAS?
- If you had the issue, did you find a workaround?
I'm trying to determine whether this is an isolated system issue or a broader Bridge/macOS 27 compatibility problem that may affect other new Apple Silicon users.
Thank you in advance for any feedback.
