P: CR/LrC/LrD: Sony files have a yellow/green tint

I updated to Lightroom 10.3 (from LR9.4), and when I did so the colors in my images changed and have taken on a green/yellow cast. The image on the left was exported from LR10 and the image on the right from LR9. Absolutely nothing changed in any of the settings. All of the images in my LR10 catalog now have a similar green/yellow tint. Has anyone experienced this and is there something I can do to fix it?

I have noticed the same issue with files from my Sony Alpha 7C and had to downgrade to Lr 4.2 / LrC 10.2. Although I could find no mention of this this issue in the release notes, I have re-retested the new releases (Lr 4.4, LrC 10.4, PS 22.5 and CR 13.4) today and (at least in my limited testing) the problem seems to be resolved.

Can anyone else confirm this?

I've got the same problem with Sony AR7iii files shifting to green/yellow in the Develop module with version 10.3. I reverted back to 10.2 and everything is back to normal. I'll be staying with 10.2 until this is resolved. I'm running LR on Windows 10 Pro ver 20H2 with build #19042.1149. 16GB DDR4 RAM. Intel Core i7 7700K CPU. EVGA Nvidia GTX 1080 FTW2 GPU. The color cast remains whether or not I disable GPU processing in preferences.

Also want to point out that once photos were sent to PS from Lr Classic 10.2, their white balance was changed too, regardless of PS's version. Same as updating to Lr 10.3.

I wonder if there's going to be a 10.3.1 release only for this issue or we'll have to wait another update cycle that fixes this but breaks something else from critical functionality (yes, broken grain rendering in develop, I'm looking at you) and eternal waiting cycle for somewhat bug-free version will continue...

Hi all, I posted this issue on community and contacted tech support a couple of times, but no luck. The last support agent told me to give this place a try.

After updating Lr Classic to 10.3 on my M1 Mac, I immediately noticed the shift in white balance. Photos taken by A7iii became noticeably greener. While the tint and color temperature values were still the same, what was as shot values in 10.2 (in grey) became adjusted values in 10.3 (in white) without me changing anything.

In ver. 10.2, the exported tiff file looks the same as the edited raw file. (lens: FE 85 f1.8)
But, in ver. 10.3, they are different, even though the white balance values haven't been changed.
In another example, the as shot values of the one particular photo are 5650K and +6 in ver. 10.2, but become 5350K and +12 in ver. 10.3. It's worth mentioning, this photo looks indistinguishable in ver. 10.2 and 10.3 at their respected as shot white balance.
I'm running into the same issue on AMD-based PC as well, so it's not just Mac. Older photos taken by Pentax don't seem to be affected, only the ones by A7iii, regardless of the lens and lighting (fluorescent light seems to be least affected).

Here is another posting that MAY relate to what you are experiencing: "https://feedback.photoshop.com/conversations/lightroom-classic/lightroom-not-using-gpu-but-photoshop-is/5f635892917fbb467fef9933"

Read the whole thing, as the part that might be relevant is towards the bottom.

@Rikk Any updates on a fix?

That is possible.  The color will be restored to 10.2 values so 10.3 edits will change.

Yes, that is the case, but I am concerned about what happens going forward...any images I edit between now and the fix will then be different again once a new version rolls out?
