Bug: Waiting for camera forever on mac mojave

On Mojave (10.14.3), the camera doesn't work: It is "Waiting for camera" forever. The green light next to the camera comes on, but CA stays waiting. I've tried all the ideas found in google searches:
- I can't change to the next camera (there's only 1).
- I have given permission to the camera, and even rebooted after.
- The mic works fine.
- The camera works in other apps, e.g. Chrome (which also has permission, I just didn't include that in the screenshot).

What model of Mac are you using?

Are there any other apps (Skype, etc.) that might be accessing the camera when Character Animator is launched? I'm assuming not (based on the mention of the camera light coming on), but just checking.

Thanks.

I have this exact same problem. I wasted over an hour reviewing the forum and waiting for Adobe live "support" to review and respond, only to tell me to read the forum. Don't waste your time contacting their live support.

I have the same problem, PC, Windows 10, AMD Ryzen 5 2600, I changed three webcams (2 of them Logitech HD 720p), updated all drivers and still no effect.

When this issue happens, can you please try accessing the camera using Photo Booth? Let us know if Photo Booth is able to access the camera.

Also, you might try rebooting when the issue occurs. Certain Macs seems to occasionally get into a state where the OS stops recognizing the camera. Sometimes rebooting fixes the issue.

MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2017, Four Thunderbolt 3 Ports)

The only 2 things with camera access are chrome & Character Animator. I quit out of chrome to ensure that it wasn't hogging the camera.
