when i try to creat a hand swap it wont show up a hand, and the idea is keep those hands as they are know and then when she lifts to knock it shows up a fist which i already draw
I am trying to record a scene for a pre-rigged Adobe puppet called “Cowboy”. The puppet comes with a number of shortcuts for poses and hand positions, for sad and angry and so forth. I was recording the gestures during playback without problem. Then I stopped to lengthen the cowboy track and the music track. When I went back to record, the trigger icons no longer worked. At one point, I got them to work a little -- but they only affected the bottom half of the character, while the full gestures should have the hands waving in air and so forth. In addition to this issue, I have had other times when the controls seem to have no effect for no reason that I can figure out. Where am I going wrong? In this case, I have made sure that the puppet track is selected and the control panel is in “perform” mode…. It’s just inconsistent. It will work for a while, then it won’t.
Does anyone have a workflow for this yet? I’ve seen a few comments saying you can use Claude and After Effects to help edit? I’ve seen some Higgsfield and After Effects stuff but I’m looking for something specific for my editing workflow.For context I review movies using my animated character.Right now I’m using Character Animator Where I export my puppet and background into after effects.Once those 2 are in after effects I add the B-roll (from what ever movie im reviewing) and match it up to the right parts.My issue is thats it’s so much work, as I’m also adding in cuts to add sound effects and memes to make the video more engaging, but it’s a lot of editing takes me like 4 days sometimes, wanted to speed it up.Has anyone seen anything on this or have a good workflow?
Hello, I created a custom illustration and having trouble getting the mouths to lip sync for me. I am new to character animator and hitting a road block here. Would love to know how others figured it out? I’ve created swap sets, tried meshing the body, a whole bunch and stumped.
Hi, I’m pretty new to this, but I’ve been following a bunch of the online guides. I’m working on my first character puppet. It’s a supervillain character. I was able to get an unmasked version (Overseer Puppet) imported with front and ¾ views and got it so that the head is attached to the neck and the neck stays put at the bottom so it naturally moves when the head moves. However, I’m running into problems with the masked version. He’s got a hood and I thought I had all the layers right, but the neck is bolted to the head and nothing I do seems to be able to pin the bottom down. I’ve tried both with the hood (Overseer Masked) and without (Overseer Masked No Hood) and even though it’s rigged the same way as the unmasked head, the neck isn’t behaving right. I’ve included my project file with (hopefully) all applicable media. I did notice that when the hood is on, the neck picks up the layer behind it (per the contour). My goal here is to have the hood attached to the head but pi
he zoom into the timeline is either centered on the play-head or I lose the cursor and it have to scrub to it. For a lot of changes it becomes a real bottleneck. Am I missing a trick?The ALT + mouse scroll isn’t the same as the - and = keys. It also doesn’t zoom in around the pointer. It isn’t working for me. Any hep would be appreciated. :)jb
Hi,I have my character working and everything is set but I want to live stream now. (I'm on Mac OS btw)I have OBS but it turns out there's more to it.I've recently seen Okay Samurai's video on live streaming but it's from 5 years ago and the NewTek NDI Software and plugins are completely different all I could download was NDI Tools pkg.Now I have NDI Output but seems like I need a github download too called palakis/obs-ndi. However I can't find this.Is there any other easier solution? It's been 5 years can't I just straight stream my character from Character Animator to OBS?

My absolute favorite puppets are the Cupcake, mushroom, and the flower in Adobe express but I can only download and use the Cupcake with all it's fun abilities in Character Animator. I would absouletly LOVE to be able to download and use the mushroom and the flower. My nieces and nephews LOVE them. Hope to see it on the download page soon! Love the program!
The laugh set, which is independent and has cycle layers behaviour , was dragged to the swap set ‘talking’ group. When triggered it doesn’t cycle through layers it just shows one layer so looks static.
Hey guys!I can’t figure out why the Walk Behaviour isn’t working properly on my character; the legs separate from the body, and the Pelvis (which is in the Body group) won’t deform properly
I can’t figure out how to get the torso of my puppet to move when I sway back and forth in the body tracking camera in record mode. The head moves but the body stays still. Please help! I’ve attached an image of my rig settings and how it looks in record mode.
Yesterday, all the elements on my puppet worked. Today, one element, the left eyeball, only shows up with low opacity.I did the following troubleshooting: I made the eyeball a different color. Same thing happened. I moved the layer outside of the left eye section, and the opacity was normal. In photoshop, this layer is “normal.” Left and right eye are set up identically and the right eye is OK. I deleted the offending layer in photoshop, created a new one, and the same thing happened. I also tried not using a folder for that eyeball art, and just tagged the art as the eyeball. Same thing.I also rebooted my computer.Does anyone have any insight about this problem?
Help! I am working on a project and I am unabe to import any new artwork! I keep receiving this error popup when importing an illustrator file.
I tried my puppet to a new laptop for Character Animator. While all the layer settings, including the different layers for head turning, are correctly labeled in Photoshop, (see first picture) when I import to CA, it’s a complete mess in the Scene. (See second picture). I assume the solution is to re-rig everything but I’m not sure how to do it. I fixed the arms so far to be draggable and bend correctly. However I’m not sure how to fix the mouth and head movements. Can someone please walk me through how to get everything back to look like the third picture I’ve attached?
I have a character holding an ice cream cone and I have recorded a replay of him licking the ice cream cone. When I right-click the replay, choose Edit Replay, and play it back, it plays back as intended.When I trigger the replay or insert in into the timeline during a recording, one of the frames does not display accurately and shows the ice cream cone upside down. It is very obvious and distracting.I’ve attached a quick recording of the Edit Replay view and a screenshot of the incorrect frame.Any ideas how to fix this would be greatly appreciated.
I just wanna know when Character Animator will have support for more languages when computing lip sync. Adobe Express supports my language (Tagalog). How come Adobe hasn’t had an update in over a year? For the longest time I was hoping for at least the lip sync computation to be better.
As the title says, every time I try to move the origin for the eyes, I cannot, and then when I go back to look at it in rig mode, it looks wonky. I have the file here, can someone please help? What am I doing wrong?Linky Link via Onedrive
Hi everyone, so I’ve spent a whole two days trying to make this puppet’s pupils work, and let me tell you, I’ve tried practically every suggestions on the internet. This is not my first puppet, but definitely the first one with this frustrating issue! Hi! According to the directrions I've read, I create a short recording of a small version of my puppet on the right side, then a second recording of a larger verson on the left side. Unfortionately, both versions show in the timetine, but only at the larger size.My objective is for my puppet to move from right to left, ending at the large size. How?
Hi there, New to Character Animator but well versed in After Effects. I have taken on an animation project that I'm pretty sure I can complete in After Effetcs alon but would much rather use CA for more realistic body tracking etc. My problem is the characters are basically shaped like Mike Wazowski from Monters Inc. The rigging seems a little tricky as there is a lot of distortion to the body when the arms and legs move. Also, the character has a black stroke effect around it which is fin in the T pose but side on view creates a problem. You will see from the atached image, one leg on the side pose is connected to the body and the other is behind, Any help on the best way to rig this would be great. I have tried removing the stroke from the character and adding it back in in After Effetcs but the results are not great, lots of jaggies.Cheers Steve6.png

I try to change the size of the stage - I looked a few videos but this functions are not in my version (25.6)Maybe I`m still blind - thanks for helping
Hi - I am trying to set a single layer level behavior (in this case a dragger on my cat's tail). When I test it in record, all elements marked with draggers move at the same time as I drag the tail. Only the tail, however, is supposed to move.Note that when I work on recording, the behavior is seen as Dragger [Tail 1], so I know that the behavior is assigned to the right layer.I want to make use of custom behaviors, but don't know how to keep assignments localized. To correct this condition, I have to completely remove the behavior from the tail. Help!
