I can't do anything: theres nothing in my record, stream, & rig sections

Please help me, I am going through the exact same issue. Nothing is working. The puppet tab, timeline tab, the windows tab, edit tab and the scene tab, everything in it is grey and can't be selected or tapped on. I am currently using Version 26.0. Please help me. I cannot even select the character even though I tap on him many times, all I can do is move him around. My camera and the lip syncing is working though, those are the only things working, with those two alone, the app is basically useless. I also can’t select scenes, none of the puppets which I  download is visible in any folder when i try to import them into Character Animator. Please the app has frustrated me for the past two days of trying to “fix it”, please help me, any advice that will solve this will be much appreciated, thank you.
