Camera not working in Character Animator – "Waiting for camera" message

Hello,

I’m having trouble getting Adobe Character Animator to detect my camera. I’m using a notebook that has a built-in camera, which works fine with other programs. I also tried using an external camera, but I keep getting the same message: "Waiting for camera".

I’ve already checked and granted all necessary permissions for the camera, and I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Character Animator, but the issue persists.

Could you please help me resolve this?

Thank you!

I see that After Effects currently has the camera in use. The program will not even try to access the camera if it's being used by another app. Make sure you're not using the camera somewhere else when starting the program. Additionally, click on the drop-down menu to the right of "Camera and Microphone" and confirm that the camera you want to use is selected in the settings. Sometimes the program gets confused and defaults to a different input.
