Crashes when trying to open a puppet file and can't import puppets, app will crash

I have the most up to date version of Character Animator, I am using a MacOS Ventura 13.2.1 (Up to Date). I have tried downloading Puppet files from OkSamurai and when attempting to open, Character Animator will begin launch and then crash with no error message and just display an Adobe Crash Report. I have also had a custom puppet made and when trying to open that file, it's the same issue.

Any updates on a fix to this? I'm ready to upgrade from Monterey 12.6.7 (did so many projects without issues in CH) to Ventura 13.6 or maybe all the way to Sonoma, if CH is working and stable there. I'm about to start a new project so all must be stable.

The only thing I can suggest is holding down the command key when you're starting the program to get a fresh start and proceeding from there. I'm afraid I do not know too much about Macs.

It's stored directly on my Mac in the downloads folder

Are the puppets and projects on a local drive or external? CH does not work well on the cloud.

Hi,

I also have tried importing the character directly into Character Animator, so it works once I do that but when if I close it out and attempt to open the application again, it crashes.

Thw video would not play for me. But it appears thar you are trying to open a puppet directly instead of importing them into character animator?
