I am tryiong to edit original task from a Character Animator to an .AI puppet, when I click or use shortcut to Edit Original, It takes me back to the downloads screen on my HP laptop rather than connecting me to illustrator. Photoshop edit original works great when moving from Character Animator. I cant seem to figuree out why I cant connect to illustrator through the "edit original" tab in Character Animator. Please help

Ok, so I figured out what I did wrong. On my HP, I set the default to AI to open everything, so automatically it changed all my files to AI which caused the confusion. I reset my HP to factory default settings and boom now it's working like a charm. Thank you for your time and assistance

Were you able to find an AI file in there? Try opening it directly.

I just extracted the contents and it still didn't work. Maybe I didn't extract them correctly. Hang tight, let me try it again

You cannot open a zip in AI. You will have to extract the contents before you can open them directly.

Even  when trying to open zip directly into illustrator I get this message. Although, I can open it directly in Character Animator, but that is about as far as it goes.

Yes, the puppet comes from a zip file. I download from graphicmama.com

I put these screenshots in order, once I click edit original it goes to download screen, then downloads 10x or until I exit out.

Is the puppet in a zip file and you've extracted it? I've not encountered specifically this kind of error and I'm trying to figure out what could possibly be the problem.
