Edit Original not working

Hi! I exported a .puppet file and brought it into a new project, but one of the shareable puppets within the main puppet is not showing a file path for the original file and the "edit original" button at the bottom of the project panel is greyed out. I'd like to edit the original file, but can't figure out how or where it's connected to the artwork. Anything I can do to fix this?

To switch out the artwork, import the artwork you want to switch. Select it in the menu and then right click on the artwork you want to switch it with in the timeline. Select "Replace with Selected Puppet in Project Panel."

Any ideas on how to get around this? I can usually track down the artwork it's referencing. But I can't changet he resolution or switch out the artwork in CH.

I have a puppet that incorporates shareable puppets linked to different art sources. The head is linked to one illustrator file, the mouth to another, and the body to another. For some reason the head puppet doesn't show a link or filepath in the program. When I import the puppet, it does place a file in the "gathered media" folder. If I delete that .ai file, it shows up as missing media, so it seems to be linked there. After testing some more, I can use this file to edit the artwork to some extent. Anything that is already apart of the puppet can be modified, but any new layers I create do not populated or show in Character Animator. I am also unable to set the resolution, render as vector, etc because it doesn't show me those controls for the head puppet.

If I understand you correctly, you are trying to edit parts of a larger puppet? Is there a particular reason that you're doing this instead of editing the entire puppet?
