FPS Rate is dropping while streaming.

Hello together,

We have the problem that the frame rate when streaming (streaming only) exterm becomes much lower and thus extremely jerky on the output screen connected via USB-C. instead of 24fps we only achieve 8.5fps.

We have been able to rule out file size, processing power, etc. as the cause.

It is also interesting that Pupets from the library do not trigger these problems. The value remains at 24fps.

Does anyone have a solution here?

Thank you so much.

no it never was part of the puppet. It was always imported individually from photoshop. I just was wondering how the size difference in the background image (which is nothing compared to the possible size differnence, when you talk about complex puppets) can impact the streaming quality on this level. But anyways. For everybody who is facing problems with dropping FPS rates in streaming mode. Check the file size of your psd background.... 😃

I wasn't sure about your answer - is the background part of the puppet? If it is, it can be removed from the puppet and imported separatedy.

Sorry... startet in the middle of my sentence... the background psd file is the problem.

Thanks for your answer/question! Really appreciated.

It doesn't really make sense to me, but it's clearly the cause of the problem.

The original background was about 5.8MB on a 4k resolution.

As soon as streaming was enabled, the frame rate dropped from 24FPS to as I said, between 8.5 and 12 FPS.

I have now reduced the background to about 800kb and I am able to stream at about 55 FPS.

So the acute problem is solved. But what still irritates me is that we have puppets that are 1MB in size, others are 300MB in weight. But this has no influence on the framerate. But the background, which is static, does. 😃

But I will clear our invisible and unused layers anyways, thanks to your answers.
Best, Pipo

How many layers are in the puppet? Even invisible layers will have to be processed by CH.
