If this is happening on launch, it sounds like your system is configured for that to be the default folder for Documents but it doesn't exist yet and the user that the process was launched under doesn't have permission to create it. Character Animator will need permissions to create and open a default project in the created directory to avoid this error.

What are you trying to do when the error appears? What steps have you taken to get to that point?
