Webcam will not track motion in Character Animator

Hi,

I'm very new to Adobe CH, and for some reason it won't detect head or body movements from my webcam. This is not an issue with puppets or their setup, because I've used lots of different Adobe pro puppets to test, and none of them work.

I've had 2 different sessions with Adobe technical support, where they've remote-accessed my computer, and neither were able to find a solution. I've bought an external webcam today, and its the exact same issue. My webcam connects, I can see myself, the audio and lip-sync works fine, but no tracking lines appear on my face, and no response from the puppets (adobe tech support did the same, and also couldn't get it to work). I've tried lots of different positions for me and webcam, also tried maximising lighting, I've disabled all other software from accessing my webcam, I've changed webcam settings, I've uninstalled and reinstalled CH multiple times (and installed previous versions), I've updated windows, graphics card drivers, webcam drivers. Nothing works. I've trawled online to find solutions, but nobody else seems to have the same issue as me.

I'm using a 6-month-old laptop (Windows 11), Asus Zenbook i7 (16gb).

I'm really lost, would really appreciate any help!

Thanks

Just to provide an update... I had a senior tech support staff member call me earlier, and after 90 minutes of remote access, he finally solved the issue. It was an issue with the driver for the graphics card! I had used windows device manager myself to check for and update the driver, but this hadn't solved the issue. However, the adobe tech guy download the Intel installer (Intel Iris) from their website, and updated it directly, rebooted and it worked straight away! Such a massive relief. Thanks to Navdeep from Adobe tech! I thought I would leave an update here in case anybody else encounters the same problem.

Thanks again for your reply. Its not an ARM processor no, its x86-64 11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-1195G7 @ 2.90GHz 2.92 GHz

All I can guess is that there's something in your hardware configuration that CH is incompatible with. Does your laptop have an ARM processor? Maybe one of the developers on here (like @dtull-adobe ) can offer some clues.

Hi, Thanks for getting back to me! If I click calibrate with only the camera and audio icons activated, a blue box saying "calibrate" appears for a second, then disappears, and nothing happens, If I click the body icon, it does the 5 second countdown with bleeps and blue boxes, but again nothing happens after that. What I mean by nothing happens is that the lines do not appear on either my face or body, as I've seen with others in youtube, nor does the puppet respond to my movements.

So the camera is working. Will CH let you calibrate? What happens when you click on the word "calibrate" in the lower left corner of the camera panel?
