Are my stencils misaligned or am I just using them all wrong?

Using a scratch stencil, I see that some scratches show up properly oriented, some seem misaligned, and some seem tiled (even when tiling is disabled).

How do I properly align the stencil properly so the effected area is more predictable?

I'm just updating this thread to confirm this is a bug we're facing with Stencils and reimporting meshes with the reprojection on.

In the meantime, the Projection Tool should be an efficent workaround.

Great tip! Playing around, it seems to do what I need it to and I haven't been able to break it. Appreciate your workaround

Good question. My project configuration has "Preserve strokes positions on mesh" enabled, and yes- I have reimported mesh.

Have you by reimport a mesh with the "Preserve Strokes postion" activated? This could be a lead to understand this bug.

Hmmm, that's unusual.

Do you have by any chance overlapping UVs? Which version of Painter are you using?

Let me know.

Hey yes, the pink UVs are overlapping. I can offset them by 1 if that helps?

And the video is from 11.0.2. I've since updated to 11.0.3 to resolve this but it's still a fairly frequent issue
