Crash when adding to library

One of my artists is getting a constant crash when  adding an alpha, texture or material the project library.

We've tried clearing things like cache and other stuff to try and fix it. The other libraries he has like personal ones don't have this issue.

Log attached.

It's worth noting the library is stored on dropbox, but the crash persists even when the folder was removed from dropbox.

Sorry for the delay in response. Could you DM me which adress you use for the previously sent crash report? This way I'll be able to have more detailed info on the issue.

This problem is actually making it difficult to work in some cases cause substance painter will legit just crash when you open it if anyone else is using the same library.

Isn't the point of multiple libraries is to collaborate?

EDIT: I can't even send an error report cause it locks up so bad.

Any news on this?

I was able to reproduce the issue on my PC it's deffinitely the lock file, instead of simply blocking adding the asset to the library it just crashes.

I sent an error report.

Wouldn't this problem affect network drives?

It seems the issue is related to the lock file, in short he works on a desktop and a laptop and it seems there's an error.

When he's working on one or one after another it seems to be blocking him from making library changes.

I meant dropbox or any file coming from a cloud service.

The issue is proper to your colleague computer? If so, it's also worth checking our Software conflicts list.

Do you mean onedrive or dropbox? I said when the folder was moved out of dropbox the issue persisted? Is one drive causing the issue in general?

Hi @sacb0y,

Thanks for sharing.

The problem probably comes from OneDrive. Substance 3D Painter doesn't support networked paths because this require an account authentification , which the software can't do.
Therefore the paths must be mapped mounted by the operating system.

That being said, I'm suprised that the application crashes. If it still occurs, is there a pop-up window asking to send a crash report? If so, I strongly advise him to send the report along with its e-mail adress (to contact him back). This way, we should have more info on what happened and we'll be able to have a deeper investigation.

Keep me updated.
