ERROR 205

  • February 8, 2025

I am once again getting this error when launching Painter or ANY other Adobe app.

"Sorry, Adobe Substance 3D Painter has encountered an error and needs to close."

I am not going to format my PC as has been suggested. I have uninstalled and reinstalled creative cloud and the apps in question.

This has been going on for months and Adobe is happy to take my money and make it virtually impossible to contact anyone or cancel a service THAT IS NOT WORKING.

Please solve this today or I will take action to cancel all of my subscriptions and demand refunds, even if I have to stay on the phone for a week.

Bug report information:
1. Adobe Substance Painter(latest version)
2. Windows 10 Pro
3. Try and launch the app
4. Expect product that I pay for to run but error pops up and closes program

This is ridiculous. It is a known issue that has been going on for years.

Hi @Stephan21923489ulvi,

Thank your for the message.

I advise you to try changing the regional settings of the Windows: hhttps://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/change-the-windows-regional-settings-to-modify-the-appea...

You can also try to open the app as administrator.

In addition, we have a list of "Software conflicts". I think it's worth taking a look.

Lastly and considering this is probably an error with Adobe connections, we have this page dedicated to such issues.

Best regards,
