Exporting Transparent textures after recent update 2023 (MacBook)

Hi, I am trying to export transparent textures from SP but after the recent update they are no longer transparent. I do the same as I did before; metal-rough-with-alpha-blending, adding opacity channel. Export as 2D view and textures comes out solid as a rock. Can someone please help me out? It would be greatly appreciated 🙂

Thanks for the details and the example. I understand the issue, and can reproduce on my end. I'm going to share the situation with the team, and I'll try to keep you updated on the matter.

By saying "export 2D view", this is my setting:

This issue happens from the 9.1 update. Before it, if I set the shader as "PBR metal rough with alpha blending" & add Opacity chanel to my textures, I can export transparent texture (for example: lace fabric) by selecting the option "2D view", but now they come with black background. Look at the comparisons below:

Same project, same settings, exported in previous versions, I got transparent lace texture like this:

Export on 9.1.1, can't get rid of the solid background, I already try to turn on all "transparency" settings that I found but no help:

I am having the same issue too!! I can make sure this is probably a Substance Painter issue. Before the 9.1 update, I can export transparent texture as "2D view" (the 1st default option in the list), but now they come with black background there is no other way to fix this.

Set the shader as "PBR metal rough with alpha blending" & added Opacity chanel to my textures as always.

Thank you for getting back to me. Maybe I am doing it wrong, I am very new to this. Before the update glass textures came out transparent, but not now. I usually make recolors for objects in the sims and I thought it was so nice the textures just worked without going back to blender. So basically I need to make a diffuse map, sometimes a normal map too.

It could be an in game issue too. We get updates regularly.

Hello @Tilly48,

Thanks for the report.

I already saw the message from @lee0909, but I'm not sure to understand the issue. The 2D view export preset will basically export what's in the current 2D view. Therefore, (with most of the display mode) the map shouldn't be "transparent" once in your rendering software.

Could you send me a comparison with the past behavior and the current one, so I can have a better idea on what's happening?

Let me know.

I've been in the same situation for a few days and still haven't found a solution.
