Smart materials with layer that has Saturation blend mode shows weird artifacts

I encountered an issue while attempting to apply smart material to my model. It resulted in weird artifacts appearing, giving the impression that my UV map had been burnt onto the model.  I discovered that the problem lies with the layer utilizing the saturation blend mode. It appears that any smart material having layer with  the saturation blend mode will exhibit various types of artifacts. To illustrate the problem, I have attached two GIFs showcasing the issue.

Hello @Sh_okre, hello Dave and thanks for reporting in detail.

I can confirm we currently have an issue with the saturation blending mode and I can tell you we are working on it.

The bug should be fixed in our next releases, so check the release notes.

Best regards,

I can reproduce and confirm that issue here using a different material with a Saturation layer added and a different model.

This screenshot should have saturation blend mode across the UV with some stippling based on the mask. But as can be seen the top half is not using saturation blend mode but is using color. I have also seen it use luminosity instead of saturation.

Switching the mask off and on again either resolves it or changes which quarters of the UV use the correct blend mode. It is certainly not reliable. I could not reproduce with other blend modes.
