Substance Crash when opening a file

When trying to open a file, Substance just quits.

I found this entry repeated a few times at the end of the log file:

[ ERR] <Qt> "[DBG ERROR][EngineReference]" Reference source ' "" ': channel 0x "800000"  not defined.

I'm trying to open it from a Mac M1.
I tried to open it from other computers as well (Intel Mac and Windows 10) no issues opening the file there.

Has anyone faced the same issue before?
