SUBSTANCE PAINTER CRASHES

Good morning,

I currently own an Nvidia RTX 5080 graphics card, but I'm experiencing a lot of problems with Adobe's Substance Painter. The program closes unexpectedly without displaying any error message, making it very difficult for me to work (I work in the video game industry).

Previously, I had an RTX 3060 and an RTX 4090, and I never had any issues. I have the Game Ready drivers installed, but I've also tried the Studio drivers, and the problems persist. Everything is up to date.

Can you help me?

Thank you!

I still need the log file to get more info. With the few information I have for now, I can only tell you the 5000 serie from Nvidia has a lot of issues with their drivers. It could very well be related to that, but nothing for sure.

Hey @Cyril Dellenbach

That’s the problem—it doesn’t show any error. It happens when I switch texture sets, when I’m editing a material, when I reimport a mesh, etc. Here’s what’s going on: When you save a file and close the program, it closes immediately, right? Well, it does the same thing. I can tell it’s about to happen when, for example, I’m working and a blue loading bar appears at the bottom (showing it’s loading changes), but it never completes and just freezes. Then it always crashes

Hello @Jordi26865537td3x,

Thank you for the report!

Could you share your log file after a crash? You'll find it in C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\Adobe\Adobe Substance 3D Painter

Or even better, if you can fill the crash report window at next session. This way we'll have way more info on what happened in the software. Make sure to add your e-mail address so we can contact you back!

Also, do you recognise any pattern triggering the crash?

Let me know.
