Version 11.1.3 Generating Thumbnails consistently which slows down Substance Painter to a crawl.

Substance Painter 11.1.3 consistently Generates Thumbnails will scroll through assets, whether its materials, smart materials, alphas, etc. I have set the icon memory budget to 2000MB. I also used Environment Variables, SUBSTANCE_PAINTER_PREVIEWS_MEMORY_BUDGET, set to 24000. When scrolling through assets Substance Painter slows down significantly, where adding a material or smart material takes an extrememly long time to apply or load.

    Hello @Ryan32813658ajes ,

There’s likely one (or more) very heavy custom resource that are slowing the entire loading process. Could you try to not load your custom library and check if there’s a difference?

As instance, you can rename the custom library folder (so Painter won’t find it).

    Let me know.

There are quite a few smart materials in my custom assets that are ‘heavy’ which will take a long time to be applied.

Will those ‘heavy’ smart materials cause the Assets Pane to continuously generate thumbnails while scrolling through materials, smart materials, alphas, brushes, etc.?

There is no issue when loading only the starter assets.

Does Substance Painter generate thumbnails each time it starts?

Is there a size threshold for a custom assets folder?
