Version 8.1.0 Crash at File New / Select window popup

Since I updated to Version 8.1.0 anytime I go to File/New then File Select which pops up the windows browser window Substance Painter crashes to windows without an error report.

Or if I open a recent file and go to project configuration and try to reimport a mesh which opens the windows browser window it crashes back to desktop.

 

I can no longer even use the software... 

 

 

(I'm running Windows 10, latest updates and an Nvidia GTX 1080 with most recent drivers)

    Welp, after pulling my hair out 8hrs I found a fix.  I uninstalled / reinstalled,  wiped out preferences with no effect. 
    I notice even after all that, I'd reinstall and substance painter (via Steam) it would still load into the project folder I've been working in.  When that browser window pops up it would cause SP to crash. 
    (FIX) I cut and paste the project folder SP was auto loading to, to a new location then.  Started SP and loaded the new location of the file. Everything works fine now.  This makes NO SENSE to me why the 8.1.0 update would cause SP to crash to windows because of folder location!?   I hate these bugs but I seem to have a super power for running into them.  Thankfully this time (in all unlikelyhood) I was able to solve it.
    Hope this helps some other poor fellow artist out there.
