Apps settings get reset after every update

I'd appreciate some help on an issue I keep experiencing for years. The problem is that after every major update to Photoshop, Lightroom and Lightroom Classic, the settings (or should I say "preferences") in these apps get reset to their initial state. It means that after single update I have to manually restore all my settings to the desired state and I must say it takes quite some time to do it for all the apps I use. To take Lightroom Classic for example, it means that after every update I open the app and it looks like it was just freshly installed - all my develop presets, export presets, app settings, interface settings are gone, reset to initial state. It's extremely inconvenient and I'm wondering if I'm the only one experiencing such problems.

I would greatly appreciate some feedback from those who may know something about it, because I didn't manage to find a solution for this and at this point I'm just a bit desparate.

I have had the same problem for several years even though I have changed computers twice since then and on my PC I still have this problem. I don't have the problem on my laptop and I have always disabled automatic updates and it still does them despite everything.

    do you have auto-update enabled?

I have always disabled auto-update and it still does them despite everything. I already tried to activate it by checking the boxes to keep my preferences and that didn't work either. I am at the end of my resources. I tried everything

when there’s a major update (and auto-update is disabled) you should be seeing the option to allow the update.  do you see that?
