Bug: Cloud Document object appearance becomes corrupted after transform

Operating System: Windows 11 Home v:25H2
AI Version: Adobe Illustrator 2026 30.6 (desktop)

I have an Illustrator Cloud Document that I created myself and have been working on across multiple computers using Adobe Creative Cloud. All artwork was created by me within Illustrator.

The issue appears to affect objects copied from one specific cloud document into another.

The affected objects are simple vector circles with gradient shading. Prior to the issue, they behaved normally.

Additional Symptoms:

• The Appearance panel is completely blank when an affected object is selected.
• The object remains visible until it is transformed.
• After reflecting, the object becomes invisible, however its vector paths remain selectable and visible in Outline mode.
• The Layers panel continues to show the object.
• Using the Eyedropper Tool on an affected object consistently causes Illustrator to crash.
• Applying a normal Fill temporarily restores the object's appearance, however Undo returns it to the corrupted state.

Expected Result:

• Reflected objects should retain their appearance.
• Gradient fills should remain intact.
• The Appearance panel should correctly display the object's appearance attributes.
• The Eyedropper tool should function normally without crashing Illustrator.

Actual Result:

• Reflecting the object causes it to become invisible while leaving the vector paths intact.
• The Appearance panel is blank for affected objects.
• The Eyedropper tool crashes Illustrator when sampling affected objects.
• Saving the file as an Illustrator 2020 local file removes the issue entirely.

Troubleshooting Performed:

I tested multiple troubleshooting steps:

• Verified the object still exists in Outline View.
• Confirmed the object remains selectable after becoming invisible.
• Created new Illustrator documents.
• Tested GPU rendering.
• Tested copying between documents.

I also found the following:

• Object > Expand Appearance repairs the affected object and allows it to be reflected normally.
• Object > Rasterize also removes the issue.
• Saving the Cloud Document as a local Illustrator 2020 (.ai) file completely resolves the problem.
• Opening the Illustrator 2020 version restores normal behaviour:
  • Reflect works correctly.
  • The Appearance panel behaves normally.
  • The object no longer becomes invisible.
  • The Eyedropper no longer crashes Illustrator.

This suggests the issue is related to Cloud Document object data or live appearance information rather than the artwork itself.

I had recently experimented with the Turntable (Beta) feature in Illustrator on a copy of the artwork (not the original object). I cannot confirm whether this is related, but it occurred prior to noticing this issue.
