Fonts app not working in CC

The Font manager widget is no longer available in my Creative Cloud which means I can no longer activate Adobe fonts on my system. I am running CC on a windows 7 machine sometimes as we still need to use older versions of InDesign and Acrobat occasionally..

Is this a bug or Adobe's way of forcing us to move on?

absolutely it was. Has been flawless for years, then a couple of months ago the function disappeared from the app, likely after an update. I have tried repairing, using the adobe cleaner to remove CC and resintalling it to no avail.

Any idea then why I cannot access the font widget? See the screenshot I had added. There is no "f" icon in the top menu, nor is there the font option in the left panel menu.

there's been no change in the cc app (that's compatible with your os).
