Installation and Update Process Experience is Miserable

For years now, Adobe has provided the worst update experience of any major vendor.

Messages such as "it's taking longer than expected we are working to resolve the issue" with no reasonable way to cancel the update (you will be stuck for hours on cancelling) are simply not acceptable.

Why should I be waiting on Adone's apps to do updates? I've paid for them, I'm now paying to run my compute to wait on you. In the last three updates, I've been stuck in this situation on two occasions.

I know what will happen next. Photoshop will be broken and I'll have to remove it and then reinstall. More wasted time when I could be editing. Creative cloud is supposed to support and enable me. It doesn't when it wastes my time persistently.

Why hasn't this been fixed? It seems to me Adobe are spending far too much effort on AI tools and not nearly enough on sorting the basics.

this is not a common problem.  ie, most of us don't have it.  in fact, most of us have no problems with adobe apps.

that said, there are a lot of users that report a variety of problems.  the basic issue explaining why so many adobe users have so many problems is because of adobe's emphasis is on the security of its software.

if you see a problem, reset your cc desktop app.  reset the cc desktop app by making sure it's in the foreground, then press:

Win: Ctrl + Alt + R
Mac: Cmd + Opt + R

Thank you. I am aware of that treatment and indeed always try it.

It often doesn't work - I would guess this is because it's attempting to
have the desktop app ignore what is actually broken. The moment you take any
action, back comes the original problem.

My preference of course would be that Adobe spend some time to make this
more robust. My Macs and phones don't suffer similar issues with other
software (ironically that would include Capture One). Why is Adobe the odd
one out?
