shared component that sends plugins to Photoshop and other Adobe products

I've reported a bug on the Photoshop community as I thought it was with PS CC, where in cases that the user directory on a Mac computer is located on a different physical drive than the system (common when newer Macs have smaller NVME drives and users' directories add up to more space required than the physical drive can store) the Plugins menu is grayed out and no plugins can be used (such as from the Marketplace, etc.,.).

An employee, BrettN, reported in this thread (https://community.adobe.com/t5/photoshop-ecosystem-bugs/p-ps-cc-24-1-and-later-plugins-menu-goes-dark-in-a-certain-configuration/idc-p/13726878#M81563) that it's a known problem that has to be fixed by the Creative Cloud app team and since it's been almost 10 months since this issue became a problem, I'm losing patience and wonder why it can't be fixed, since we're using a multi-user OS where for decades we could depend on user accounts being somewhat mobile relative to the System folder. Anyway, I would like to be able to upgrade past PS CC 24.0.1 as it's now at 24.5, but for some reason, every version since then has an issue with that shared component in the Creative Cloud app and plugins are not able to function in version s after 24.0.1.

It seems like I have to spend thousands to purchase a Mac with a 2TB or larger internal drive if I wish to use newer version of PS. Running the system on an external NVME drive is also problematic with the safety precautions built into the later versions of Mac OS, so the best fix is to return the multi-user capabilities back to the Creative Cloud app so that it's not an issue for users directories to be relocated to a different physical drive once again.

Hi @jeffreym , it sounds like the issue is in a library that is installed as part of the Creative Cloud desktop app. I've sent the team a reminder. They might reach out to you for additional logs to aid the investigation.

I'm sorry I missed your question to me about how this relates to the CC desktop app. Apparently the issue according to Adobe personel, is an issue with a library in the CC desktop app that has something to do with colaboration between applications. At any rate, they have confirmed that they are tracking the fix and hoping it will be completed in the next CC app version update, probalby this fall sometime. These are the ticket numbers: JIRA ticket numbers PS-104457 and EXCH-4213957.
