Crop an image so that none of the original borders are as they were. Move the white balance eyedropper over the image and watch the Navigator Window. It shows strange colour casts. (The numbers under the Loupe and the pixels shown in the loupe look right, but when you click, the point under the eyedropper doesn't always show neutral grey). Gotta be a bug. Lightroom 4 beta bug: With Font Size set to Large, the Channel setter in the Tone Curve doesn't display properly. See http://forums.adobe.com/thread/952717... by c.Frans w Hal
I have Lightroom 3 on a newer Windows 7 PC. Two internal hard drives. My Image files and lightroom catalogs are on the C drive. I would like to backup the lightroom catalog on the other internal drive "E". When I get to the catalog backup dialog, it only goves me option on the C drive - It doe snot navigate to "E" or any external drive. It forces me to backup on the C drive. I can nevigate to other drives everywhere else in Lightroom e.g. folders. Please help.
Currently, when editing a RAW using "edit in photoshop", there is no dialog box with options to choose from. Problem: One cannot choose whether the newly created image will be stacked with the original or not. And very confusing: Whether the image is stacked or not depends on how one has set this option *previously* (!) in an edit which shows the options dialog (e.g. edit a JPG, or edit with an external editor different from PS) - even if that edit was cancelled, which oddly enough makes it a workaround for setting this option. So my idea is: When editing a RAW using "edit in photoshop", show a little dialog box containing only the option "stack with original". If I remember correctly, this was still the case in LR 1.x (the dialog box contained also the "what to edit", but fixed to "Edit a copy with LR adjustments", obviously). P.S. I already sent that using the old bug report form a while ago (as a bug). I hope it's ok to re-post it here as an idea (so at least I can see whether I am
Lightroom (recent versions including 3.6) always starts with an expanded "Keyword Set" panel, regardless of the panel's previous state. E.g. if the "Keywording" panel is expanded but the "Keyword Set" panel is hidden, quitting and restarting Lightroom (or switching between catalogs) will automatically expand the "Keyword Set" panel within "Keywording".
I have a problem I am using Lightroom 3.5 and started to have a problem with the slideshow component. I get the following error: Log (3) Cannot create the encoder instance, h264OutVideoNew failed. error: h264OutVideoChkSettings - no library function available error: No encoder library could be found! Thanks for any help you can provide!
Hi there - hope someone can help - when I try to export to jpeg in the print module I get a jpeg with a very red colour cast - completely unusable. Why do I do this rather than use export to jpeg - so that I can create montages of photos. Using camera raw 6.6 and LR 3.6 RC Alternatively how do I roll back to 3.5 where everything worked? Thanks in advance DrF
Hi, I'm using LR for both Digital picture and large scanned films. When I use the brush with the automask "on" to develop a 16bits gray level tiff (Hasselbald films 7000*7000 pixel), LR crashes with no recovery possible: - the screen is frozen - I've to kill LR with the task manager (I'm under Windows7) - the catalog isn't working anymore (if I reopen it, it will crash every time I go to this photo) - so I've to restart from the last back-up (wich costed me a few hours of work). I don't know if this issue is new or not as I've never tested it before 3.5 but I got it both on 3.5RC & 3.5 official. For me it's the first time that I've encountered an issue that is really blocking my work. I'd like to have the "automask" work on B&W TIFF (based on a gray-level range) or at least the "auto mask" inhibited on these photos, but it's very difficult to stay with a system where if I forget to turn automask OFF I can lose hours of work. If you want them, I can send the real data.
You select a bunch of files, a mix of images and videos. Then click Create Collection and see that "include selected photos" is ticked. The resulting collection set does not contain you video files. There is no option to include them in this dialogue box. There is no warning or message that LR is ignoring the video files. You can still manually drag the videos in, so adding them is possible. Please change that option to "include selected files."? We have plenty of filtering options, so really we don't need more in the Create Collection box. It should be create an empty collection or add everything that is selected. Thanks, B
If I have a keyword in a photo with a synonym, and I check "Export Synonyms" for that keyword, and then hit cmd-S (Save Metadata to File), the synonym is not saved in the Metadata. It should be saved. This is the same issue addressed in http://forums.adobe.com/thread/345318...
Is there a way in which I could help to address some of the remaining bugs? I relatively frequently get an "An unknown error occurred." message. Is there a way, e.g., by activating a logging mechanism, in which I could help the team to find out about the source of this error / these errors? I recently could not reorganise a folder structure because LR told me "You cannot move a folder into one of its subfolders" (or very similar). The target folder was not a subfolder. I subsequently moved the folder I wanted to move into the target folder using Windows Explorer and then let LR "find" the folder at the new location. This appears to have worked but LR should have supported the move in the first place. Sometimes, when I want to move a folder within LR, LR tells me that the operation didn't succeed and when I try again immediately the move works. Obviously all the above normally works so I'm not sure whether there would be a point in filing bug reports for these. Maybe being able to activ
I'm having consistent crashes when trying to work on certain Tiff files imported from Photoshop. It does it over and over again and tells me it will let me know when a solution is found. It has been several days now and I've heard nothing - should I expect some sort of communication from Adobe? In the meantime I've reloaded Lightroom 3.5 several times, with exactly the same problems. Can anyone help?
I use LR3 and have just upgraded to OS X Lion. When importing images from CF card, server mounted volumes are not displayed as an import destination. Drives are mounted and are visible when in the Library module, but not visible when importing. This was not the case under Snow Leopard. I can import the images to a locally attached drive then drag to the network volume in Library, but this requires adequate space on local drive and takes time to carry out the process.
I recently noted that in Lr 3.4 the metadata field "Date/time digital" does not show the correct date any more. It always shows the date/time of the other two date/time fields. I've tested my catalog again with Lr 3.3 and there it shows correctly. This seems to be bug introduced in Lr 3.4.
In the IPTC field Date Created...I enter 1906-01-01 and hit return....the field is now populated w/ 2042-02-6. Lightroom says that the metadata has been saved with the original file, but when I look at the image in Bridge (or one that has been exported from LR...) I get the correct date that I entered (1906-01-01). How can I get Lightroom to display the Date Created that is imbedded w/in the file? btw I'm using MacOS 10.6.7 & LR 3.4.1.....thanks!
Crash problem with Lightroom 3.5 32b RC. LR crashes repeatedly after I changed the Distorsion slider on the Lens Correction panel with the Nikon 17-35mm profile loaded. It seams that only certain pictures are affected. I can restart LR but as soon as I make a "problem" picture active it crashes again. I am using Windows 7, Swedish. Please let me know if I can provide more details for you. /Fredrik
Just worked in "lights out" mode (development module) and wanted to export a photo. I noticed that the export dialog is partially obscured like the main LR window - screenshot: Happens in 3.4.1 and 3.5RC. Does _not_ happen in full-screen mode. Also happens for the settings dialogs and the import (!) dialog. After switching to other applications and back, the dialogs become completely obscured (really confusing if you are in 100% lights out - screen goes completely black). Also, moving the dialogs causes some different areas of the dialogs to be affected by the lights out. Win XP 32 Bit SP3, 1600x1200 screen resolution. Edit: Video: NVidia GeForce 7600 GS, latest driver from NVidia website.
Hi, in a LR publishing service, when it comes to the deletion of images that were removed from the collection, it halts with the following error message: Image is not available I have found several reports of this happening when the file to be removed from the collection had already been removed manually outside of LR. But this is not the case with me - the file still exists on the hard drive. I rather believe that it can't handle the # character in file names properly, because the file's name is e.g. 2011-03-27_00-51-50_#165.jpg, but when I right-click on the image in LR and select "show published file in Explorer" it telles me it can't find the image but with the name "S:\\165.jpg, so the part of the file name until the # is missing! Image is not available This happens to all the files that have the # in their name. I am using Windows 7 64 bit, if that matters. # is an allowed character in filenames in any modern OS, so please fix this annoying bug as soon as possible. It seems to
Since I installed new Lion last week, the scroll bars of Lightroom 3.4.1 became crazy. They move less than the movement I make with the pen of my wacom or with the track pad or with a mouse. Each time I touch the bar it jumps moving away. I have checked in case the problem were in the drivers of the wacom intros 4, but it is not because it works ok in the rest of applications in my iMac, everywhere else it works properly. Any help? Thank you!
When LR 3.4 writes metadata, it is writing the wrong time zone into XMP:MetadataDate, using a "+" rather than a "-". For example, I'm in PDT (UTC-7:00), but LR writes the following value: 2011:05:13 09:10:17.082+07:00 A number of others have noticed this and wondered whether it has anything to do with LR's problems in spurious "Metadata needs to be updated" notifications; for example, see: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/849347 A sample image: Image is not available
The size of the adjustment brush can be controlled using the mouse wheel: Rolling it away from me increases the size, rolling it towards me reduces the size (same as in spot removal). When the mouse wheel is used while holding the shift key, it adjusts the feather. However, it does so in the opposite direction: Away from me decreases the feather, towards me increases it. IMHO this is completely counterintuitive and confusing. Was this intented (if yes, why?) or is it a bug? I use LR 3.4.1 on Win XP 32Bit SP3, no special mouse driver and a Logitech MX400 mouse.
For example: When the computer's date changes, and a smart collection "capture date in the last X days" contains e.g. 50 photos before midnight, and 40 after midnight on the new day, the smart collection as such works correctly, i.e. selecting something else and then the smart collection again will show only the 40 photos that match the rules *now* - and the film strip info shows correctly "... / 40 photos". However, the number of photos indicated to the right of the name of the smart collection still shows "50". The only thing that seems to refresh this number is to restart lightroom. This is of course not a severe bug, but it may be irritating sometimes. P.S. Seen on LR 3.4.1 on WinXP 32 Bit SP3. P.S. I have seen some other occasions (not date changes) when the number of photos to the right of the smart collection's name was not updated when something was changed for the photos. However, I was not able to pinpoint the exact circumstances. Normally, this number is updated correctly.
I found that the lightroom upload plugin can't convert and export psd files to viewable jpgs. Need to export them first to jpeg format, reimport them in lightroom to upload them then with the plugin. Wonder why this works with the third party jF-Facebook plugin, but adobe is not able to convert psd to jpeg? Is it possible to fix that?
I noticed a change of tones in one of my photos after upgrading to LR 3.4. This is how it used to look (and as it was uploaded to Flickr): And this is how it looks now in LR3.4: Image is not available Note especially the small patch of road on the lower right corner: it has distinctly green color cast in the current version. There are other changes in tone elsewhere in the photo, but they are much more subtle than the road. And as you can see from the history panel, the image has *not* been modified by me at all in Lightroom since it was uploaded to Flickr (which is the version above). So it seems that some sort of bug has caused this color shift. Which is not nice. Fortunately this is (at least so far) the only image which seems to be affected. Using latest version of Mac OSX here, LR running in 64bit mode.
Hi, I am currently using Lightroom 3.1.4, 64bits on windows, with EOS 10D Jpeg files. Everytime I edit those files Lightroom crashes. I can send you such a file, please let me know how to help. Regards Eric
