P: Enable/Disable Library Filters not working properly

I am running LR 3.4.1 on OS X 10.6.8. The Library>Enable Filters command does not work properly when I have a Library Filter set up to filter on more than on criterion.

For example, I have a Library Filter preset called "Needs Location Keywords" that selects all images for which don't have "Location" as one of their keywords and which are not flagged as Rejected. In other words, there are two filter criteria applied:

1) TEXT: Keywords "Don't Contain" "Location"
2) ATTRIBUTE: Flag = Flagged OR Flag = Unflagged

Toggling the Filter State by choosing Library>Enable Filters works as desired when the Filter State is changed to OFF; all images in the selected folder are displayed. However, when Library>Enable Filters is selected a second time, changing the Filter State back to ON, only one of the original filter criteria is applied, namely:

1) TEXT: Keywords "Don't Contain" "Location"

However, ATTRIBUTE Filtering is NOT re-enabled as one would expect.

This is repeatable with different filter settings and different folders.

Greetings,

The Lightroom Classic CC was updated today and contains a fix for this issue. Please download the new version and give it a try and let us know how it works.

Just updated my Mac to 6.12 in Lightroom 6 - now filtering is broken. When I select filter by equal to greater than and any choice of the number of stars, the results do NOT include all the files that meet that criteria. I only get a few files some 5 star, one 2 star. If I select only the Picked flag filter - I get nothing, should get several images.

For what it's worth, the behaviour is the same if the multiple selections are saved in a filter preset, the preset is selected, and then filters are toggled on and off.

With these steps, I can duplicate what you are seeing -both with the filter lock on and with it off.  I do not know if this is as-designed (where multiple selections within a filter column are reduced to a single) or if it is a bug. I will log it with the team and see how they respond.

Happy to help with some reproduction steps, Rikk:

1. In Lightroom 2015.12, in the Library module, select a folder containing a mix of: JPEG files, Raw files, and videos.
2. In Grid view (G), show the Filter Bar (\).
3. In the Filter Bar, click Metadata, and in the File Type column select both JPEG and Video (hold Cmd and select each option from the list). The Raw files are no longer displayed in the grid.
4. Hit Cmd-L to toggle the library filter off. The Raw files appear in the grid again.
5. Hit Cmd-L to toggle the library filter back on. The previous filter is misapplied, with only the Video option selected in the File Type column. Only video files appear in the grid.

The bug seems to be triggered by having multiple File Type values selected in the filter.

I'm running LR 6.12 and enable/disable library filters is working fine for me. I tried various combinations of filtering criteria and toggling the filter enable/disable state worked every time.

Kevin - give me a step by step process for repeating this. This thread is six years old and it is possible that it has been fixed, then broken again.  Without steps to reproduce, I can't open a new bug. Can you help me out?

CC2015.12 is the latest version. Have you installed it yet and tried the issue?

Nope. Broken again as of 2015.10.1. 😞
