P: Map markers are not updated when photos are moved in the map module

Confirming this bug — same behavior on my system.

Lightroom Classic (current version, Windows 11), HP Z6 G5 workstation.

Steps to reproduce:

In Library, a Smart Collection is the active source (13 photos, all geotagged). Switch to Map module — pins display, but the map also shows pins for thousands of other geotagged photos from the wider catalog that are NOT in the active source.
Created a regular Quick Collection containing only those same 13 photos and made it the active source (filmstrip correctly shows "Quick Collection — 13 photos / 13 selected").
Switched to Map — the map still displays pin clusters for the entire catalog's geotagged photos (clusters of 86, 94, 44, etc.), not just the 13 in the active source.

The Location Filter set to "None" doesn't clear them. The filmstrip source is correct; only the map pins are stale. This makes it impossible to isolate a subset of photos on the map.

Restart with photos I wanted on the map (13) in Quick Collection and Quick Selection given focus prior to closing worked. 

Lightroom Classic 15.4.1 (Windows 11) shows following bug when using the Map Module

Steps to reproduce:

1. Set Windows display scaling to 125% (or Windows text size above 100%).
2. Open the Map module.
3. Select a photo without GPS coordinates.
4. Drag the photo onto the map.
5. Drop it at a specific location.

Expected result:
The photo is geotagged exactly at the mouse pointer.

Actual result:
The photo is consistently placed approximately 6 cm to the right and 2 cm below the mouse pointer (2560×1440 monitor).

Additional information:

• Problem occurs on multiple 2560×1440 Dell monitors.
• Problem disappears completely when Windows scaling and text size are both set to 100%.
• Assigning GPS coordinates via right-click works correctly.
• Window maximized or restored makes no difference.

“Cluster of nearby photos” label in map module not merging on zoom. It’s really annoying and makes it unusable. A suggested ‘work around’ to ensure all GPS co-ordinates are unique doesn’t solve the issue (if you could even do that for thousands of photos). To reproduce.

Select say 2000 photos with GPS co-ordinates.
Go to the map module with the map zoomed out.
Zoom in and then zoom back out to where you were.
Result the is the “Cluster of nearby photos” labels do not merge.
The only way to get rid of them is to restart Lightroom Classic.

I’m not sure if this is a separate bug but it appears to be related. The map module is leaving markers behind -- not limited to just photos that have been moved. The zoom test is about as simple as it gets for Adobe to reproduce the error.

Up vote if you agree and want this fixed.

This bug is a very distracting Map Module behaviour, please fix it soon.

Hint: Of course this wrong map-behavior works with other cities / locations, too.

1. Select (e. g.) 'New York' library folder.
2. Map Module: Open it and make photo GPS allocation tasks in New York. 
3. Go back to the Library Module.
4. Close LrC.
5. Open LrC.
6. Select some library folder different to the before used New York folder, e.g. Washington.
7. In library folder Washington, GPS data already present: Click on a photo GPS coordinate icon. The Map Module opens.
8. Expected Map Module behavior: The photo location in Washington is shown.
9. Actual Map Module behavior: The New York map is shown.

On a other PC with Windows 11 - Pro 25H2 it shows the same issue. This was also seen before LrC 15.4.1.

It's honestly so frustrating. I've spent so much money on the annual subscription, yet they’ve let such a basic bug drag on for over a month without any fix. It’s negatively impacting users' workflow and mood, and slowing down everyone's photo processing speed. Truly speechless.

I’m seeing the same issue and the markers are usually corrected if Lightroom Classic is re-started, but I’m seeing some markers that stubbornly remain without being associated with an image.

Lorsque je sélectionne une collection dans Library et que je passe au module Map, les éléments de la collection sélectionnée sont affichés, mais les éléments d’une ancienne sélection ne sont pas supprimés. Dit autrement : Map ne synchronise pas les éléments à afficher avec Library, et il accumule les éléments.
