I agree with JC. Adobe, make a pause and focus on fixing bugs that are lasting since years in PS and LR. It's useless to build on non stabilized code. Just do it and explain. Most users would certainly agree with this approach.

I have to agree that it's looking that way. I would venture to say that many of us would rather see more time and attention put to bug fixing and stabilization than to the introduction of new features especially when, for whatever reason, their introduction seems to break things that were already working. Between Microsoft (Windows 10) and Adobe I'm starting to suffer from update fatigue.

Since the latest update of Photoshop CC, dropdown menus do not work when opening a file from Lightroom Classic. I need to close the file then re-open from the home page in Photoshop -the it open in Camera raw and all is well.

JC, you know the answer : you and all of us are the Quality Assurance dpt. They don't need to pay a team for this.

We're investigating this issue. Looks like launching Photoshop first, then launching Lightroom will force this to work correctly.

It's back for me too, quiet strange, booted my PC up...it was working just fine for hours. Then I closed both photoshop and lihgtroom. Re-opened them an hour later and the issue is back. I guess I should re-boot again. So more like, it sometimes works, sometimes it doesn't.

I rebooted twice--it made no difference. The only way to get interoperability to work between LR and PS is to have PS open first. My OS is Win 7 Pro 64 bit.

This was not and issue with PS 19, or 20.0.0. I first saw it with after installing PS 20.0.1 in the hopes of fixing other problems found in 20.0.0. Seems like we traded some of those problems for a new set of problems.

I am seeing exactly the same problem on a Win 7 Pro 64 bit system. The suggested workaround works thank goodness. But it begs the question of how such fundamental interoperability between LR and PS can be missed when testing a new release. It may be time for Adobe to review their regression testing processes before something really blows up.

I have some problem alike this. When i open a photo via lightroom, I cant duplicate the layers in photoshop cc, not using ctrl - j or the menus (all is greyed out).

If i open the image via camera raw in PS , all is ok.

Windows (10 home)  and photoshop is both installed yesterday...

Disabling the Home Screen also works (as long as you don't work in full screen modes).
