As I've said several times before on different threads, it seems to be caused by the new Home Screen in Photoshop. So if you go to Edit/Performance/General and check the box 'Disable Home Screen', Photoshop will perform as usual. NOT a problem with LR as Andrew said.

Because the problem is coming from Photoshop.

This problem doesn't seem to be fixed in 8.1, at least on my computer.

I'm using photoshop cc 2019, with the latest update (20.0 WAS WORKING) but this latest version does not allow me to edit layers.  I can not ctrl+j to duplicate layers, or add adjustment layers.  Everything is greyed out.   I can hold alt+drag to duplicate layers, but again, I then cannot edit these layers.

Specs:
Razer Blade laptop (same issue on my desktop)
i7 8750u

windows 10 1060mq gpu

I just installed the new CC on my PC/Win64/I8700/32Gb RAM from a few days and some essential functions don't work:
- Select area - Edit - Crop (but crop tool works)
- Paste -> Copy image in Chrome, than I go in Photoshop and Paste it's inactive
- Select area -> Copy is unavailable in the menu

When working on a document in Photoshop CC 2019 (**that's been brought in straight from Lightroom**) on Windows 10, if you click ANY of the adjustment icons from the adjustment panel (curves, levels, vibrance, etc.) all that happens is a little "Document Properties" box pops up. You don't get the new adjustment layer in your layers panel or the ability to actually make the adjustments. However, by clicking the small "adjustment layer" icon at the bottom of the layers panel and selecting any adjustment from the pop-up list, it works as it normally does. The issue seems to just be in the adjustment panel with the individual icons for each adjustment. Again, this issue is only when the image is brought in straight from Lightroom. If I open PS manually and "open" the same image, everything works normally.

Some workarounds. Open a raw file directly to PS from explorer. Then you can start opening from LR without issue.

Keep opening from LR. After 5 images or so it works eventually which is so odd.
