P: Navigator preview pane shows wrong photo

In Lightroom 5 sometimes the Navigator preview pane display gets stuck on a different photo than what I'm working on in the develop module. I haven't managed to figure out when in happens specifically, but I notice it once every few working sessions.
Thanks, David

I'm using lightroom 6.1.1 with 2 monitors and I have one on grid mode so I use that monitor to select the picture I'm editing. Sometimes the preview picture (top left corner in the navigator panel) on the main screen gets stuck on a different picture even when I switch pictures using my second monitor. It is remedied by going to the filmstrip panel and changing pictures that way, but the preview should switch no matter how I change/pick the picture I'm editing.

I'm having the same problem! Lightroom needs to fix the problem with the Navigator.

"I don't think this bug is only related to deleting the rejected images. "

There are at least two separate issues going on.  As explained above, the symptoms reported by Kris and Modkoko above are caused by a bug introduced in 2015.8, where deleting rejected photos while in Develop causes LR to freeze (and do other bad stuff):

Adobe has acknowledged this particular bug.

That bug appears unrelated to the symptoms long reported by all the others in this topic, where the Navigator's preview pane shows the wrong image.  These symptoms date back to at least LR 5 (four years ago).

Erm, I don't think this bug is only related to deleting the rejected images. This happened to me when I cleaned all the junk before regular image editing.
And this bug has been so long in LR that it's almost part of the program now. I don't know what triggers it, but the easy workaround for me is to activate the film strip, select any image there and then Navigator shows the right image.

"It seems to be triggered when I delete rejected photos and have my selection on one of the photos to be deleted/removed from the disk. That photo doesn't even show up in Library but I am stuck on it in Develop."

This bug has been acknowledged by Adobe.  You can avoid it by deleting the rejected photos from Library rather than Develop.  Please add your me-too vote and details of your configuration to:

Kris, that is exactly my experience. At first, I didn't know what situation triggers this, but I began to see the same situation that you mention triggers the problem.

My problem appeared just recently as well. It seems to be triggered when I delete rejected photos and have my selection on one of the photos to be deleted/removed from the disk. That photo doesn't even show up in Library but I am stuck on it in Develop.

Same here. Didn't have this problem a month ago. What the heck??? I don't have time to close and reopen every 15 photos I edit!!!
