P: Nikon Z8 Firmware 2.0 breaks tether in Lightroom

@SRWorks Adobe never gives this kind of answer. When new versions and fixes are release, that is when we all find out.

Could you please give us an update regarding this issue? Adobe has the Nikon Z8 listed as compatible for thethered photography with Lightoom Classic 13.0, but that doesn't seem accurate given the many reports of issues. It's been nearly three months since this issue was first reported.

Danke für die Information, ich dachte die Z9 hat auch das Problem. Mich wundert nur, dass es anscheinend ein Problem von Nikon ist mit der 2.0 Firmware. Weil andere Programme wie Capture one mit der neuen Firmware von Nikon wohl keine Probleme hat ?

Das Problem kann ich bestätigen... augenscheinlich liegt der der Bug wohl eher bei Nikon (auftreten erst mit der Firmware 2.0x) und oh Wunder bei der Z 9 gibt es kein Problem. 

Man könnte denken, Adobe will keine Profis mehr als Kunden? Keiner von uns kann sich solche Wartezeiten über Monate leisten. Nach jedem Update gibt es massive Probleme, die extrem langsam behoben werden

Habe genau das gleiche Problem ( win 11, Lightroom classic - aktuelle Version , Nikon Z8 vers. 2.01). Win erkennt die Kamera sofort, Nikon Tether Programm funktioniert ebenfalls problemlos. Nur Tethering mit Lightroom funktioniert nicht

They've got us trapped, so they think, because we are all ready to move on from this nonsense. Any update - to camera firmware, to Adobe Lightroom, or to MacOS causes a disruption, a severe disruption in workflow. Every single year something happens to cease the of the Lightroom tethering option. Tethering is actually a non-option, as it's never been reliable. With each update something irremediable happens and no more tethering for those regularly relying on Lightroom for our livlihood. It doesn't pay to be diligent with software updates.

Please Adobe could you make tethering work for more than one month out of the year? Please?

Does a ShootSmarter Plugin help as a workaround? Anybody try this?

Ich bin bei meiner Z8 , dank der Untersetzung im Forum, wieder auf die alte Firmware 1.001 zurückgegangen.

Was ja auch nur ein Kompromiss ist, damit ich weiter arbeiten kann. Stehe kurz davor, zu Phase one zu wechseln.

Da das Problem Nikon / Adobe schon seit Jahren so geht.

Kann ich nur voll zustimmen!

BTW, the new Z 8 firmware, V 2.01, does not fix this tethering issue for me on a PC. Haven't tried it yet on my Mac. Not expecting that to work either.
