P: Nikon Z8 Firmware 2.0 breaks tether in Lightroom

Hallo Zusammen,

seit dem Firmware-Update 2.0 auf die Z8 ist kein USB Tethering mit Lightroom mehr möglich. 

In LR 13.2 Windows bekomme ich keine Verbindung zu stande.  Im Windows Explorer habe ich Zugriff, und auch mit Camera Control Pro klappt das Tethering.

Aktuell forogr. mit Cam. Control Pro in einen von Lightroom automatisch überwachten Ordner – das geht, jedoch ist die Übertragung gefühlt viel langsammer als vor dem Firmware Update und mit LR Tethering Steuerung. Wer hat ähnliche Erfahrungen / kann mir helfen !

    Nikon and Adobe needs to go out and have a drink together and resolve this on going issue. Running Rosetta to tether is a huge problem in the professional world where reliability and efficiency is needed. Even then, running Rosetta still doesnt work. I've stuck with these two companies from the start and still havent resolved the issues of tethering. I dont want to move on to different brands because I know all the settings and controls like the back of my hand but, waiting over 8 years is more then enough.

        Hallo, willkommen im Club ! Es ist wirklich eine Frechheit, was Adobe da mit uns macht! Grade, wenn man Adobe Produkte beruflich nutzt, kein Update seit Monaten zu dem Problem Nikon Z8 mit Firmware 2.0.

          I'm too having this issue. Cannot tether in LRC 13.0.1 after upgrading Nikon Z8 to firmware 2.0. The connecting dialogue keeps spinning forever:

          Please Adobe, resolve this issue as soon as possible, I need this for my work.

          Ja für mich auch weiterhin vollkommen unverständlich, weshalb Adobe dafür Monate braucht dieses Problem zu lösen . Capture one hat Vorteile und man kümmert sich anscheinend schneller um solche problme. Ich bin auch am überlegen zu capture one zu gehen . Als Zwischenlösung bin ich bei Nikon auf die alte Firmwarw zurück gegangen . Bei LR classic war und ist es ja immernoch so das man am Mac auf Rosetta gehen muss um das Tethering nutzen zu können . Auch ziemlich schräg nach Jahren M1 Chip

          Once again, cannot tether Z8 to Mac bc of update - this time it was the Z8 firmware update that caused this problem - again. Let's just move on to Capture ONe - shall we?

            Danke, Thomas, für dein Angebot. Habe die Firmware schon bekommen, also die alte 1.001. jetzt geht wieder alles.

            Aber schon irgendwie verrückt, dass Adobe da kein Update von LR Klassik herausbringt? Bei capture one  funktioniert wohl alles mit Nikon Z8 und der neuen Firmware.

            I would like to know if other people are like me, since I updated my Nikon Z8 to version 2, 
            there is impossible for me to take photos in connected mode with Lightroom 13.2 . 
            Before this update of my Nikon Z8 I had no problem shooting in connected mode with Lightroom 13.2.
            With Nikon NX Tether software, no more worries about capturing in connected mode, 
            I just have the problem with connected mode of lightroom 13.2.
            Despite the various solutions proposed by Adobe support, my problem is not resolved,
even taking control of my computer.
            Please let me know if you have the same problem and if you have found a solution.

            If you meaa tethering, then the fact that it's not working is becasue tethering of the Z8 II isn't currently supported. You can see the supported cameras at https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom-classic/kb/tethered-camera-support.html

              Hello, It's not a Nikon Z8 II,
              but a Nikon Z8 with which I could shoot in tethered mode with lightrooom 13.2 
              before Nikon provided an update to the Nikon Z8's frimware called version 2.

              Hello Together,

               

              I have the problem with Tethering in Lightroom, Lightroom Classic didn`t found any of my Z-Cameras. If I will start the tethering, Lightroom is trying to connect and this ends up in a endless searching loop. I have been contact the Support from Adobe, but no solution. All cameras has the newest firmware and the Lightroom Version is 13.2 OS is Windows 11. The tethering via NX Tethering from Nikon is working fine. Also the workaround with NX Tethering and Lightroom together is working. But Tethering with Lightroom doesn`t work. Is there any solution?

                Agree, same Problem! No Soloution! Helpless Adobe support.

                Hi,

I have exactly the same problem too.

I think it's bad support if I have to wait 2-3 updates until it works again
