P: Opening photos in Photoshop from LrC using Edit In does not work correctly for some operations

Using Lightroom CC2015.7 and Photoshop CC2015.5.1

1 )If Photoshop is CLOSED and then I "Open as Layers ....." the computer will just sit there doing nothing.  If I click Photoshop to open it then the operation will complete and the photos will be layered.  I THINK THIS IS BUGGY BEHAVIOR

As a side note, this BUG affects the Panorama and HDR the same way.   Photoshop has to be opened manually.  The "Open as Smart Object works correctly.

 2) If Photoshop is OPEN and then I "Open as Layers ...." the photos will open as layers in Photoshop

3 )If Photoshop is CLOSED and I  "Edit in Adobe Photoshop ..." Photoshop will open and the two photos are loaded as separate objects.  This is the expected behavior.

I think this is a change in behavior in Lightroom CC2015.7

No change, unfortunately, on Mac 10.12.1.  CMD-E produces a bong, and the options on Edit In are greyed out.

I can also confirm that the original "Open as layer in PS" issue has been resolved (Win 10)

I just downloaded the LR CC update, and both problems that I mentioned in my earlier post have gone. Now it works again as expected.

Thank you, Adobe!

This should be fixed in the CC2015.8/6.8 Update. Give it a try and let us know.

Since PS got updated to version CC 2017, the workaround doesn't work anymore for me. Opening images from LR does work if PS is open, but the result is not being transferred back. I need to manually to this in LR which is tedious and annoying.

No one else have this problem (and maybe another workaround) ?

Adobe is NOT going to give you a date.  It will be out when its released.  Besides that, the work around is VERY SIMPLE,

Rikk, define shortly? It's been two months and the work around has started to become "normal" procedure.

Jeff your response amounts to "STFU, quit complainging.". Ok. A workaround is NOT a soluton.

I tried configuring the config.lua file for Photoshop CC 2017 and it did not solve the problem of trying to send multiple images as layers to Photoshop from Lightroom 2015.7.

Anxiously awaiting bug fixes in Lightroom 2016 ... should it be called Lightroom 2017?  😉
