P: Panels and filmstrip black when switching to Develop

Not sure if this is the right place for a bug report, if not could anyone direct me to the right place please.

Clicking develop module at top right from the Library module opens the photo with film strip and both side bars black empty spaces. Initial few times I had to quit and restart Lightroom but then discovered switching to grid view again and develop keyboard short cut, everything comes back.

I was using El Cap until this morning, and I just updated to Sierra (v10.12.5) due to some comments I saw on this thread. I'll report if the problem persists with Sierra.

Problem persists:

"We have made progress in fixing the black panel issue as noted here and have reduced the chances that you will see the issue again.  Please do let us know if you see this issue in CC 2015.10 / 6.10."

I'm using the most recent version CC2015.10.1, and continue to have this issue. Getting ready to bail out on LR as this is now a daily, if not hourly occurence, and has brought my work flow to a crawl speed. I know have to close LR about 4-5 times per hour.

Adobe: really? really?? C'mon guys.

I can't believe this (MAJOR) issue first reported 9 months ago. What is Adobe thinking??? Will they credit us back our CC subscription for the period until its fixed? They surely must be in breach of consumer law for continuing to charge for a product that doesn't function as advertised.

I've never tried that, but I will when it happens again.  Thanks for the tip.  That would definitely save me time.

Rona, did you try going to the task bar, mouse over Lightroom icon, right click and hide Lightroom. Then unhide. That works for me. (Still  a pain, but a lot better than shutting down and restarting) if it works for you.

I'm having the same problem and have for some time.  Today I downloaded the latest LR update, hoping that would help but the panels just went black on me again.  I have a MacBook Pro 2015 running El Capitan 10.11.6.  Really hoping Adobe fixes this soon.  The only thing that works for me is shutting down LR and restarting.

Just wanted to chime in. I'm another person with the same issue. Using LR 2015.10.1 and OSX 10.11.6 on a late 2015 27" imac. The workarounds work, but still are a pain to have to keep doing.

I'm running CC15.10.1 on OSX 10.11.6 and finding the side panels go completely black for no reason.  If I minimise and re-size, they come back.
