The new Lightroom version has a major bug in the map module! When you try to position a photo somewhere on the map Lightroom 6.8 assigns a wrong position (near the spot).

Cntrl - click did work for me but Adobe still haven't fixed the original bug in LR Classic 9.2 update

Tried the 100% and it didn't work. The ctl click didn't work either.
They just updated LR. You would have thought they'd fixed this. I'm going to give Adobe the benefit of the doubt and guess it's way more difficult to fix than it looks.

Have you tried 100%?  That may be too small to read, but it would be good to know if that is the cause of the problem in your case.

I also get this problem on my Lenovo Yoga 2 laptop - have tried setting "fonts" to different settings (auto and 250% - my normal setting is 200%) - it does change things, but I still end up with the the photo jumping to a different spot when I release the mouse button.  Also I have what I thought was a related problem with the eye-dropper for White balance not sampling at its tip.  (BTW Everything works fine on my desktop.)

I hadn't noticed this problem before on my Dell XPS-15 4K display (3840 x 2160). but it has been giving me grief this week.  The workaround of using Ctrl-Click on map location and not using drag and drop does work, but it would be nice if Adobe would fix bugs that have been recurring through the product line for this long.

Worked for me as well on a 4K display (3840 x 2160).

I have this problem in Lightroom Classic 8.4.1 on an HP laptop with resolution 1920 x 1080.  Definitely not a 4K problem.  I'm ready to stop paying my Lightroom subscription when the competition adds geo-tagging.

Doesn't work for me . Some people think that 4k monitor could be the reason.

Since update from 8.3 to 8.4 I had problems in the maps module. When trying to allocate GPS coordinates to pictures by drag/drop the coordinates of a right shifted location were choosen.
I found out that the scaling of windows display settings is the reason. I had it at 125%, resetting to 100% solves the mismatch.
Up to LR classic 8.3 I was able to work with the 125% setting.
At least I've found the reason and can switch by needs, but would be nice to fix that.
Thanks in advance!
