P: Slow UI when using Mac and Custom Display Profile

Hello,

Since upgrading to Lightroom Classic v10.0, all UI-related functionality is painfully slow. All editing functions are working correctly and quickly but scrolling through the catalogue or even scrolling a side panel is taking many long seconds to refresh. Unreasonably long.

Disabling GPU Accellaration has no affect on my Lightroom's performance.

macOS Mojave 10.14.6

Mac Pro (Late 2013)

3 GHz 8-Core Intel Xeon E5

32 GB 1866 MHz DDR3

AMD FirePro D700 6 GB

Yes, with CC: click on the... button, other versions.

Of course if you are computer creative, you can force any version to remain. 😉

Not with the cloud updater - it removes the old ones, and there's no supported workaround (manually copying and moving isn't supported).

You can have multiple versions of LR installed. I have three different versions installed on my Mac. The oldest being version five. The issue is if the catalog gets updated or not. So make sure when LR updates your catalog for a major new version you keep the older catalog around as well.

I agree as you can Officially do it with all the other Adobe product I think.

@Rikk

Thank you Rikk, I hope everybody will stick to that. (btw I agree with @hursey about the crowded mailbox 😉

Now, I'm just wondering why using the official upgrade process, it's not possible to keep two different versions of LR installed (as it's the case with Photoshop, Illustrator or InDesignp). I know it can be done using a workaround, but still, even if new catalogs are not compatible with older versions, this could be useful in this kind of situation, since it allows to keep on working with the previous version while trying to find a way to make the new one working. I think Adobe should reconsider it since not everybody feels comfortable at using tricks.

@Rikk  FINALLY!!! One signs on to get genuine updates and support and has to put up with this stupid childish behavior blowing up their mail box all day every day. Make sure to not leave out @bill_3305731 who is just as bad as the others. Hopefully this thread will revert back to be supportive and informational.

You can't use the 10 catalog in version 9.4 but if your photo edits were saved in the sidecar files then they will be there when you import your photos into a 9.4 catalog. I would suggest you have both 9.4 and 10.1 installed on your system as I have out previously in this thread. That way you can still access the version 10 catalog if you need to.

Hi @Rikk

You can delete all my posts on this thread, including this one.

But maybe, you could also ask everyone to stop providing non official, non verified information about the debugging process and new LR release. You are the only one here entitled to provide such information.

Best and kind regards
Thierry

Will that mess up my catalogs at all?
