P: Slow UI when using Mac and Custom Display Profile

Hello,

Since upgrading to Lightroom Classic v10.0, all UI-related functionality is painfully slow. All editing functions are working correctly and quickly but scrolling through the catalogue or even scrolling a side panel is taking many long seconds to refresh. Unreasonably long.

Disabling GPU Accellaration has no affect on my Lightroom's performance.

So how do I stop receiving emails about this post?  It's clear there's a problem.  Now my Inbox is flooded with this topic.  I don't need to hear anymore.

Thanks @2126481. I did read that update when I joined this thread and as I posted, I reverted to LR9 as suggested.  Just hoping for some progress after 2 months.  I do appreciate that it takes time and hope to be able to use LR10 soon so as to get the most out of my monthly subscription.  Thanks again.

Hi,

Thanks for all the useful information in this thread, I was really pleased to find it !

I am experiencing the same problem as others have described. This week I upgraded my monitor to a ViewSonic 4K 27" and LrC 10.1 slowed down a lot for me in comparison to when I had my previous 'low res' monitor.

I have a previous gen Mac Pro (not trash can model) with an RX580/8GB GPU.

Switching to sRGB instead of the monitor's own profile restores performance, but not Adobe RGB interestingly.

A fix would definitely be appreciated, thanks !

Darren.

That's a great question, @Seth . It's easy to lose track of information in a thread as long as this one. Useful posts are somewhat hidden to people just joining in so thank you for the reminder.

The answer to your question is on the first page of this thread:

There you will find simple workarounds to use until we work out a solution.

Thanks again for your question and thank you for your patience!

Let’s just say that Lightroom 10 is broken. Custom profiles are a basic requirement for professional work, and Lightroom fails with them. It is simply not acceptable that Adobe hasn’t seen fit to fix this for three months since the Lightroom 10:release.

Downgrading seems to be the workaround that works for everyone. But let’s start calling it a workaround. Downgrading is not a fix or a solution. Especially since it doesn’t involve a free subscription until Adobe delivers an actual solution.

Rick. Where is Adobe on the rest of this problem?

I have the same problem and was able to "fix" it by downgrading to v9.4
