P: Slow UI when using Mac and Custom Display Profile

Hello,

Since upgrading to Lightroom Classic v10.0, all UI-related functionality is painfully slow. All editing functions are working correctly and quickly but scrolling through the catalogue or even scrolling a side panel is taking many long seconds to refresh. Unreasonably long.

Disabling GPU Accellaration has no affect on my Lightroom's performance.

macOS Mojave 10.14.6

Mac Pro (Late 2013)

3 GHz 8-Core Intel Xeon E5

32 GB 1866 MHz DDR3

AMD FirePro D700 6 GB

Making a calibration is fully independent of LR.

Of course it is.

It leads to a file that is used by OSX, not LR directly.

Nope, you're lost again.

Making a calibration, and not using it cannot have any effect on Lightroom, in any way.

As you go on being contemptuous...

Making a calibration is fully independent of LR.

It leads to a file that is used by OSX, not LR directly.

Making a calibration, and not using it cannot have any effect on Lightroom, in any way.

This is not Color Management expertise, it is elementary logic.

Maybe indeed.

Maybe some are tired of CWOBaT (colossal waste of bandwidth and time) and you'll be left guessing.

Maybe someone more polite and less contemptuous than @andrew_rodney could explain the logic of:

calibrate to sRGB specifications then load not that profile but the sRGB installed by Adobe

Maybe I am missing some point.

Indeed.

Move on; this is too complex for you.

Dear @andrew_rodney

Again, explain me only the logic, that is not related to color management:

- make a file
- do not use that file
- use another file

Maybe I am missing some point. Maybe something is missing in your explanations or in what you have written.

But I am not able to understand how making a file that you do not use can have any effect.

I’ve been teaching people color management for nearly 30 years. From little old ladies to high school students to professional photographers. I am an UNable to teach you how to do something as simple as calibrate a display and load a different profile. You’ll have to find someone else to guide you through the simple step.

Please, read what you have written.

Make a calibration. OK,  I use a i1 to this

Then, do NOT use it, but the sRGB provided by Adobe.

Could you please be kind enough to explain  the effect of:

1/make a calibration and not use it

on

2/ use SRGB provided by Adobe

Sorry, I am not able to understand the logics

Yes, you don't understand. The instructions or basic color management. We are in violent agreement about that!

Your advice is:

1 make a calibration

2 do not use it
