P: Slow UI when using Mac and Custom Display Profile

Hello,

Since upgrading to Lightroom Classic v10.0, all UI-related functionality is painfully slow. All editing functions are working correctly and quickly but scrolling through the catalogue or even scrolling a side panel is taking many long seconds to refresh. Unreasonably long.

Disabling GPU Accellaration has no affect on my Lightroom's performance.

macOS Mojave 10.14.6

Mac Pro (Late 2013)

3 GHz 8-Core Intel Xeon E5

32 GB 1866 MHz DDR3

AMD FirePro D700 6 GB

Yes, "Open in Low Resolution" has been around for many Mac OS's. As I remind Mac Users, have you RUN ONYX and FIXED DIRECTORY DAMAGE with Disk Utility, like I suggested earlier in this thread? If not, please do this before posting again?

Culling images in this LR 10 update is a pain. Having a camera tethered to it with active tethering connection makes it even slow. A pain for all in studio image culling with clients. Loupe view is even way slower than viewing single images in survey mode. Please get this sorted FAST!

I too would like to revert back to v. 9 - major delays, barely usable!

@DYP, are you asking what OS supports the ability to"Open in Low resolution?"  I am on Catalina and that option is available.  I'm not sure if that option exists in Mojave.  I have also turned off the Graphics Processor option within LRC v10, and it seems to help with general slowness.....for me.

I have the same problem with LR 10.0! Each click needs 1-2 seconds until I can see a reaction. With LR classic 9.4 I did'nt have any problem! It's impossible to work with the new release. I hope, there will be a solution quickley – thank you!

I run Mojave and version 10 does not run fine on that OS.

The same slowness that is being reported but I did notice the turning off Use Graphics Processor does make it run faster.

@DYP actually it runs just fine on Mojave - please provide a link to Adobe documentation which states that it does not.

@brian_corrigan_7501389 What OS supports this, Mojave does not.

Got a new iMac a week ago. LR 9 was fine and then I upgraded to LR 10. Made my new iMac look like an old PC-XT 🙂
