P: Unable to advance to the next photo

Why no one writes about the fact that in develop mode, after any manipulation with a photo, it is impossible to go to the next photo in the feed? You go, but the photo remains the same as it was, you have to go back and only then go to the next photo. This is a global problem!!  Anyway, I did some research and I realized why many people are silent about it, because this problem occurs only when using the +\- buttons on any keyboard, even on macbook !!!!. If you use only mouse or touchpad, there is no problem with photo transition. That's why many photographers don't pay attention to it, because they don't use the keyboard. Therefore, ADOBE does not react in any way.

Downgrading isn't an option to me personally. I edit catalogs that client send to me so if they're running LR 13, I'm screwed. It is affecting my livelihood and I'm sure I'm not the only one. I think you could dig deep on this one and see why people are still "complaining". It's a huge issue.

To clarify, is your problem that using the keyboard will not advance to the next/previous photo, or if even using the mouse to click on the next photo will not work?

Also to clarify, if the latter, can you not revert back to LrC v12?

The issue in Lightroom's Develop mode, where photo transitions don't work after adjustments, seems to be related to keyboard use. It works fine with a mouse or touchpad. This could explain why it's not widely reported, but it's a notable problem for keyboard users. Adobe's attention is needed to address this issue.

Lots, and lots, and LOTS of people here still complaining that 13.0.1 didn't fix anything, or that the issue still persists. Clearly the people at Adobe are aware of this and are working on a fix.

For those who keep complaining of being "stuck" or "sitting" for days, waiting for another update, there are plenty of us who reverted back to 12.5, opened up that catalog copy that Lightroom kept when it updated to 13, and have been steadily working with no issues since. Maybe some of you could try that, rather than endlessly complaining here?

Side note: this issue with the version 13 upgrade is one of the reasons many of us use different LR catalogs for each client, rather than one giant catalog. I understand why some would want a giant catalog with thousands of keyword tagged images, but we have multiple millions of images in our studio (about 150TB worth). Smaller catalogs that are stored with a client's raw files make more sense to us, and we're not trying to trouble shoot the upgrade issue while we continue to work.

1. Let us know if setting GPU Preference "Off" makes any difference. (Preferences > Performance > Use Graphics Processor  )

For me, the problem was improved (but the catalog was still slow) when I changed th GPU processing settings to custom and checked the boxes below that say "use for photo processing" and "use for export". That being said, shortly after I this I updated my Mac Os from venutra to sonoma and the probelm returned. When I try to change the GPU preferences to custom now, it doesnt help AND the check boxes underneath are totally greyed out.

2. Also if you do not edit an image and simply go from one image to another. Would there be problem too? Is editing an image causing this issue?

problem still persists if adjustments are made or not. for me, it seems to be in develop mode as a whole.

3. Apart from mouse click, does using arrow keys has the same behavior? mouse clicking in the filmstrip to go to the next has helped with the issue of previewing the wrong images but  the entire program is still very slow. The speed of mt workflow is dependent on using the arrow buttons on the keybord to make adjustments and toggle through images so Im really hoping this is an easy fixand its done soon.

The original poster, @TomT60, was on LR 12.5 and though he experienced the same symptoms, probably is tripping over a different cause
