P: Brush Mask creates an errant diagonal straight line stroke (Win)

Lightroom Brush Option is drawing a weird line when I start to select an area. This won't stop happening. I've closed and open the program numberous times. Updated masks and AI features constantly and it's still happening.  I can't use the brush option at all and I am on a deadline. I don't know how much longer I can keep using Lightroom or my subscription.

I have had this issue for months, but it was previously only on the first brush stroke. If I deleted the brush and tried again, I could almost always get it to stop eventually. After this latest update on June 17th that is supposed to supposedly fix this, it now happens every single time I use the brush in a mask. No amount of resetting or deleting the brush fixes it anymore. Restarting the program doesn't fix it, and it also loses so much work on a mask because the mask overlay doesn't show if the program has been restarted. This is beyond unacceptable. And before anyone asks, yes, I did the update that happened earlier this week. I have up to date windows, graphics, and device drivers. It started happening worse than ever since this update.

Greetings all,

A new update for the Adobe Photography products has been released.  The June update contains an update for this issue.

If you do not see the update in your Creative Cloud Application, you can refresh it by hitting [Ctrl/Cmd]+[Alt/Opt]+[ R ].

Note: It may take up to 24 hours for your update to be available in your Creative Cloud app.

Thank you for being so patient.

I think may be sometimes users are in earnest hopes the problem is known, and just wait until they can remedy and push out the fix. The release should be coming very soon though.

One of the steps I wish Adobe would take; add to known issues until the remedy has been pushed out

Lightroom Know Issues

Another nice feature from Adobe is to publish a Changelog on changes made to the apps. This would be very instrumental for users to know the changes. I am sure they have one. Just need to make it public.

Overall Adobe is doing a very good job with the new features. Just need to do a better job keeping us informed.

Yes, same!!! For a couple of months now! Thought it was my old computer. I have a new one now, with a new monitor and a new mouse....but it still happens! Ok, so we wait until the next update, but why hasn't everyone been complaining about this and how did it randomly start? I'm confused. Sigh. Eagerly awaiting a fix!

Rikk: I am seeing the same using the Masking tool. Showing below Acknowledged. However, unable to find in "Known Issues" in Lr. I am using the latest version of Lr 8.3.1. Last known update to this file is 24 April. Is Adobe working on this?

Ditto here. This is what it looks like on my LR Desktop running on a Windows 11 PC.
