Hiafter upgrading from Lightroom 3.2.1 to 3.3, I get an error stating that my storage location for originals, located on a NAS drive, is full. In reality I have plenty of space on the shared folder. When rolling back to 3.2.1 the issue is resolved. My os i Catalina 10.15.5 the NAS is Synology. However I believe this issue is related to Lightroom

I can really suggest to use OpenVPN. It's well documented and you can use it natively on ur synology NAS with the "VPN Server" app installed from the package manager.

It also works great on windows and also macOS.

The only part to figure out if you don't have a static ip address, is that you have to set up a DNS service. There are multiple paid, but also free ones.

aaaa, great thanx. Now I need to struggle to set up a working VPN 😉

You could connect via VPN to use SMB or AFP.

It's not a lightroom bug, because WebDAV can't read the size of the disk or the disk usage.

Yes, but that assumes I'm in the same network. Do you have no suggestion on what to do if you find yourself on another network and want to mount the Synology as a volume and get it to work with Lightroom.

Is it a Lightroom problem? Because if I use all outer Adobe or MS program I can save and work directly on my HTTPS://xxxx.synology.me mounted volume.

I just changed the way how I connect to the NAS.

So instead of using WebDAV you sould use  AFP (for Mac) or SMB (for Mac and Windows).

To change this you have to change settings on your NAS.

How did you change the protocol so that Lightroom can read volym size?

Sorry, mistake on my side.

The problem wasn't Lightroom or the NAS. After some troubleshooting I found out, that the WebDAV protocol is the problem.

This protocol doesn't transfer the storage size or the device.

A day later there was an update available and I was able to update Lightroom and Photoshop.  It took more than 2 hours but afterwards I was able to import the RAW file from my MAC that I was unable to import previously.
Thank you for your help.

Thank you but I'm a novice so may I please get more specific information.
In my MAC finder at the CC app it says that both Lightroom and Photoshop as well as Camera Raw are all up to date.
Then I tried to upload a new RAW file to Lightroom again and I still get the 'Checking free space on disk' message and the file is not uploading.
