P: Desktop Export 'Original' doesn't reproduce Original (loses depth map)

This was a slightly surprising find. If I take a Photo on my iPhone 11 using the built in camera or the lightroom camera. When that image is synchronised to Lightroom desktop and 'Export Original' and open in Photoshop or 'Edit in Photoshop' there is no Depth map channel.

But the depth map is in the image, for example lightroom mobile and the (Apple) Photo app can see (and edit) it. If I sync the Photo to the desktop outside Lightroom and open in Photoshop then it is there.

So export original isn't persisting everything (I presume as Lightroom desktop doesn't support Depthmap yet, or so it seems) it is unable to rewrite this data to disk.

If I add the photo and add to a collection which I set to "Store Locally" I can then navigate to the folder and select the photo -> edit in photoshop and the depthmap exists.

This would seem to be counterintuitive, export original doesn't persist all the information in the cloud original, now whilst I can see how this could happen it can't be working as intended?

Hi Jeremy

'Edit in Photoshop' exports the image as a tif and then opens the tif image in Photoshop. The depth map information gets lost because of the export. The reason we export it as tif is so that the edits applied in Lr are intact when it is opened in Ps for further refining. Does that address your concern here?

Hi Rikk

Export Original does indeed now preserve the depthmap so thank you.
but there appears to be a regression.

Using 'Edit in Photoshop' in lightroom creates a file in photoshop with no depthmap

If I export original or navigate to the file on local storage and open it in Photoshop it is there.

We are no longer able to reproduce this issue in the 3.4 Version. Can you install the version and verify if you see the issue still?

Seems to be exporting original as JPEG whch is when the extra info gets lost, (although I though it was heic before.)

Depth-map editable in lightroom mobile and apple photos(desktop + mobile)

Would you be able to provide an original file as well as an Export as Original so that we could review them?
