P: desktop: Spherical panorama creation hangs

Hello all,

I'm
trying out the new Adobe Photoshop Lightroom, coming from Lightroom 6.
One of the features that is critical for me is the stitching of spherical panoramas. Lightroom 6 is decent, but often creates a visible seam or other smaller mistakes, and I hope that the latest Lightroom is better. Unfortunately, Lightroom CC seems to hang after a while. Creating the preview works fine. When actually rendering the full panorama it uses 100% CPU as expected, but later it reduces to 18% CPU, and a few minutes later it's down to no CPU usage at all. The user interface is still responsive, it's only the merging itself that hangs in limbo.

Has anyone experienced this? Is there a solution? I have unticked "use graphics processor" in the p, but it didn't change anything in the behaviour. The merging process just stops mid-way.

I'm stitching 26 DNG files shot by a DJI Mavic 2 Pro drone. Below you can see where the "Performing Merge" step hangs.

@8510810 Flohr: sure. Is there a way to share those in private?

Would you be willing to share via Dropbox or similar a set of DNGs which fail to merge so that we can test with them?

For me the merging works in LR6, albeit with a seam between the left and right side of the equirectangular image (just in color, not in positioning of the images).

I did it always with the latest version of LR, not with LR6

Does Lightroom 6 merge these files for you?

Eek, that doesn't bode well. To be honest, I'm not going to pay for Lightroom CC at all if it means I have to considerably lower the image quality.

I have suffered the same problem in a iMac . After several chats with Adobe technicians and Apple techs too, following their instructions I uninstalled several times the Adobe software, I formatted my iMac, and even I sent the iMac to Apple in order to install a former version of the IOS . No clear root cause and solution was found .It seemed to be some incompatibility among version of Adobe and windows or Apple operating system.
After several weeks of tryouts without success
What I am doing is try to avoid the use of many pictures ( no more than 6-7) to generate a Pano.
